My husband grew up in NYC and lived on Long Island as a teen.
The thing about snow is that it is beautiful when it is coming down and it is very peaceful. After that you have to deal with the shoveling and trying to drive in it (very scary for me), and the huge piles of dirty snow that are everywhere until the spring. I have grown to hate snow.

I can understand your pain. There was one year here in MD, where we got so much snow, I thought I was going to scream. It was a blizzard and then snowstorm after snowstorm. I was so sick and tired of trying to get to work, and I used so much of my leave, since I was working in an office at that time. The snow got so black and ugly and it stayed with us most of that winter. I was never so happy to see spring.
I guess the reason I would like to see some this year, is that it has been awhile since we have seen much. We have been getting much more ice in the past years, and I hate that more.
Stay warm and safe and Merry Xmas.
Lynn

It is now 5 here. Bitter cold and goes right through you. I heard we may have wind gust 40 to 45 mph tonight.
I'm going to sit by the fireplace all day and stay warm.
Good Luck staying warm!

Doesn't the smell of burning pigskin stink up the house? ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif)
I assume you'll be watching the Pats... that snow there is heading your way.

We've gotten 4-6 inches since Thursday night, I think, on top of what we already had. Today, it's all blowing snow and a whopping high of -6 predicted. Blah! I know it could be worse; I'm not dealing with the lake effect snow like Flipada, but ugh, I'm sick of winter already.
I am, however, counting my blessing that I have a warm house and live in town!
