He has a book called "full catastrophe living" that I was just looking at on Amazon. Its part of a meditation for pain management program he started. I've started meditating again in the past two weeks after a 5 year break, and I'm looking for some guidance. I was looking at Insight Meditation books/cds which is the type I tried practicing in the past, and found this program. Looks interesting. Has anyone tried it?

Yep, I've read it. Good book. I got it from the library. A lot of hospitals and HMOs teach Kabat-Zinn's meditation program now. He has some CDs available as well, that offer a guided meditation and a guided yoga practice.

Okay thanks, I think I'm going to look for it at the library too. In the past when I meditated, I followed a series on cassette by Jack Kornfield which I really liked called The Art of Meditation. So I'm going to listen to that again, but I don't have a cassette walkman anymore (why would anyone in the age of the ipod!) so I'll have to play it through my stereo which is annoying. Seems so ancient now, but I still had one just 6 years ago.

It's amazing how quickly technology changes. By the time I get an ipod, they'll be dinosaurs. I still have a cassette player on my boom box. Ha! I'm pretty sure Kornfield's Meditation series is on CD now if that helps. He has a book too. If you like Kornfield, you'll probably like Kabat-Zinn.
