Is it possible that you can eat too much fiber? I've been gradually increasing the amount of fiber I take each day and I am now taking about 14 grams per day of Heather's Tummy Fiber. Additionally I eat a high fiber (13 grams) cereal each day and eat high fiber(6 grams/slice, 2 slices/day) whole wheat bread. Additionally I eat leafy vegetables and apples every day. The only thing that seems to be happening is that I'm getting more constipated each day. Have I not given this enough time or what?

maybe that's what I need to do...because I'd much rather be plugged up right now than the opposite which is what I'm going through.
Sorry you aren't having any relief. Maybe just cut back on your fiber. Are you drinking plenty of water and fluids with all this fiber??

Make sure you are drinking LOTS of water! Too much fiber can definately cause constipation if you are not getting enough fluids. You really need the minimum of 64 oz a day, preferably more!
-------------------- IBS-A since age 12, and fructose sensitive; with the exception of my pregnancy, have been following Heather's diet since Nov. 19, 2007.
Taking 12g of Acacia per day. Relatively stable since March 2008!

I am drinking 8-10 glasses of water every day. As soon as I posted this question, today turned out to be one of my better days as far as the constipation goes. However, it has been very unpredictable from day to day. Thank you for your comments. I'll wait a few more days to see how things go.
