the countdown starts! one month till my surgery!

29 days till my surgery on july 14th. i can't believe it - it totally doesn't feel real. it's been like that since i made the appointment a few weeks ago. i think some of the realities - of risks & healing time - are dampening the excitement, so it evens out to almost nothing. strange, huh? but i'm still happy, and excited. the official pre-op regimen (vitamin c and iron, no multivitamin or asprin, etc) doesn't start for two more weeks, but i'm starting now cutting out all junk food and alcohol and just trying to eat really well - plenty of vegetables & protein. trying to do everything i can to help this go well. all i can control right now is getting my body as healthy as possible so it has everything in its favor to heal well. (and, i guess, to be able to *do* something rather than just wait and then hope it goes well.)

That time flew around! You are being sensible with your health kick beforehand to give yourself some time to recover properly and have yourself in as good a form as possible before.

You're so brave to go through the process and I wish you only success. It takes guts to "make it happen." Wow. (I was born with a birth mark that I'd love removed, but rather shy about the process.)
