The doctor is a dermatologist and I had to fill out a bunch of questions about how it negatively affects my life. That was easy! So it's all up to the insurance company as to whether or not they will pay for the Botox treatment for me.
I HOPE SO!!!!!!! She says I might not hear back for a month or so though.

I just heard a commercial on the radio this morning for botox to treat excess sweating. I thought of you and wondered if you had heard about it.
Good luck with the insurance company.

This is great! Definitely let us know how it all turns out. If you don't mind me asking, did they say how much the procedure costs? Also, did they give any indication on if the procedure is painful? I have heard that it is. And is this something that you would need to have done yearly?

If insurance approves it, I am assuming that most of it (if not all) would be covered. It's a medical condition and unlike other Botox procedures, it's not at all cosmetic.
The doc said it's not painful, the needles are hair thin. It will take only about 15 mins total and they will do a test to see what sweat glands are acting up. Then they mark it in blue marker and use those marks to inject the Botox into. She sid it will hurt for 2 days but nothing serious. I honestly don't care if it does hurt though!
The pamphlet she gave me said that a study showed that it lasts for 201 days or 6.7 months so it has to be repeated.

I hope the insurance company cooperates and that you will be able to have the treatments. I don't know much about it but I am assuming that the botox must work. How long do you have to have treatments before you see results?
