Well, duty called, and I spent two shifts at the hospital with my grandmother this past weekend. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. She is in such bad shape! But, her wonderful spirit, even in her darkest hours, had her thanking all of the nurses and techs, doctors and specialists whether they were changing her bed or taking her blood, she always thanked them for caring for her! She even worried about those of us staying with her...whether we had something to eat or money for gas!! She is an awesome lady!!
The bad part is that the stomach bug that had mowed down the rest of the family and had me going up there to start with, hit me about an hour after I got home!! Sooooo you can imagine how I'm feeling physically! GROSS!!! I'd go again today if they called though. I love my grandmother!!!
She may not make it home from this ordeal, but she is ready to go to her heavenly home, so no matter what, she will soon be going home! I appreciate your thoughts and prayers for our family during this time. Hospice is probably around the bend.

Bamagirl,
How I wish that I could have served my grandmother in the hospital before she passed away. She had had a series of strokes and no one told me because they knew how attached I was to her...I am thankful that you have that opportunity!
My grandmother is in heaven now...and how thankful I am for that. There is a peace in knowing where she is. I now wear her wedding ring and cherish it.
Enjoy the time with your grandmother whether she goes back to her home or "GOES HOME"...create memories, polish her nails and yours at the same time, tell silly stories and ask her for stories. You will cherish those memories.
I pray that you have years of Christmases and birthdays with her...in the event that that is not God's plan, then I know you will cherish any wonderful memories made from when you were little to today.
Love you,
-------------------- Have a blessed day! Rachel
