You have to imagine this in a weak, little hoarse voice...but still with that extra dose of 5 year old drama...

"I feel hot because there is a BATTLE going on inside me, just like the battle in Narnia. My ...um...what's it called again?"

"Immune system?"

"Yes, yes, I know, my immune system is FIGHTING the diseeeeeeeeeeeease, to get the sickness and the germs OUT of me, and that is why I feel hot on my skin and have a feeeeeever".

your kids give you the best reasons for having a great "quotes from kids" book!

Michelle, I saw the coolest thing on Goodmorning America this morning. There was a surfer and his wife who have an autistic son...the one place the dad could connect with his son was in the water riding the waves. They now have a non-profit that makes "riding the waves" an opportunity for kids with autism. The kids are initially worried about getting into the ocean but once riding the waves it does something to them that brings about calm and sheer joy. I was in tears watching the smiles on these kids.

If I am not mistaken (please correct me if I am), Aspergers is a form of autism? If I lived near the ocean I would love to learn to surf and participate in a program like that. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks but I think I would be ready to learn this one!

He's never actually "surfed" of course but he loves to stand out in the surf and feel the push and pull over and over - I think it's the rythym and the input to his vestibular sense that he craves, also just the salt water is calming, the whole entire experience, he loves it.

May 20, baby - HIlton Head, here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are planning to take the kids somewhere fun...I was thinking Hawaii, hubby a camping trip in a Winnebago. God has blessed us with the extra $$ to take a nice trip so we want to make memories with the kids.

Hilton Head is one of the places that I would enjoy so I am hoping to twist his arm a bit...they have golf courses all voer the place and he loves to golf!

I will let you know...how I would love to meet you and your family!
