Well here he is.....Dakota. He will be with us on March 10. He's 7 weeks old. The breeder has been so great. She lets us visit whenever we want. Hubby is growing more attached thank goodness since he wanted "no more dogs!" He actually fell in love with the only female pup in the litter. At $600 a pup, I don't think so!!!!!!! Went to the pet store and got lots of toys for him today and picked up the crate at my mom's.

Just getting more and more excited. Thanks for letting me share.

He's 7 weeks in this picture. No idea how much he weighs. He's actually not even the biggest male of the litter. There are 2 more that are heavier I'm afraid I'm not gonna be able to pick him up much longer. I am tiny (5ft 90lbs)so he does look huge next to me but he is a big boy too! I remember when I first held him, he fit in my arms and fell asleep. Now, he's a big ol puppy! Time flies!!!

It's been neat though watching him get big. I picked him cause the first time I picked him up he gave me lots and lots of kisses and he still does. Yes, it's killing me not to have him yet. I have to wait till he's 9weeks due to my work schedule. I want to take some time off and when he turns 8 weeks and could come home with me it didn't work out with my job. This way if I wait I can spend more time with him training him. Should be interesting!!!

Did I tell ya Bevvy how great you look?!?!?!? I can't get over the difference. This is your new "doo" that you were working on some time back right??? If so, then it turned out gorgeous!!!

Gosh, only 5 feet and 90 pounds?! You ARE a tiny little thing! I'm envious. I'm 5'6" and .... well, lets just say I'm bigger than you.

Yes, this is my new "do." You're very astute, and what a memory (it's been almost 3 months)! Thanks!

I HATE being short and thin. I can find NOTHING in my size. It's really a big pain!!!! The one and only advantage is that I can pretty much eat whatever I want and not put on a pound. But then again, that ticks me off too cause I try to gain weight and it never happens!

Anyway, I'm telling ya. Your pic makes you look like 10 years younger. I knew something looked different about ya!!!

Hi Lisa,

Oh, Dakota is absolutely precious and such a big boy. I know you can't wait to get him home and love on him. I just want to pull him through the computer and give him a big smooch. Goldens are the bestest!

Here's a pic of Annie stretching. She has become very happy in our home and we have come to love her very much. BTW, when we got her she was 70 lbs and underweight...now she weighs a whopping 84 lbs.

Annie is just beautiful! You can tell she's a love too! Hubby was falling for the female of the litter and I said we can't pick a different one after picking Dakota out in the beginning. Besides, we have to stick with our first instincts and Dakota was it!

Yes, I'm getting more and more excited to get him. I'm fully prepared for the puppy stage(at least I think I am)!!

I'll keep ya posted!

and he's not the biggest! I liked him cause he was so blonde. Our other one was golden colored but more on the reddish side. I didn't want him to look the same for fear of too much comparing but I'm afraid I'm still gonna compare anyway

Last night I visited our Golden's ashes that we had put to sleep in Sept. Reilly......(he's in my closet in a gorgeous jewlery type box). I told him I loved him and missed him but that we were getting a puppy to make us happy again. I wanted to tell my husband that I did this but I thought he'd think I was crazy so I held it in and then my tears just came a flowin out of me! It was awful. It was strange it was like it came out of nowhere! I had a dream that I told Reilly that we were getting another puppy and he told me it was ok. I know it sounds really strange but having him for 14 years made it like a child to us. He was actually our first. Reilly was 3 when my first son was born!

Anyway, we are looking forward to having a dog in the house again even if it's gonna cause us stress. It will be worth it in the end!!!!!

Yep. He was born Jan 5 or 6. That's controversial right now between my husband and I. I thought she said Jan 5. We'll find out the exact date when we pick him up and get his papers! The breeder has actually 3 generations of paperwork on these puppies. It's really cool!

I'm afraid he is gonna be pretty big. I love big dogs though. I just hope he doesn't take me for a walk!

How are ya! I swear I answered your post but now I can't find it! What the heck????

How have ya been feeling these days? I hope much better. You sure do deserve some good feeling days!

I've been trying to bid on Bath and Body works antibacterial stuff on Ebay and darn it can't win! I guess there are many more germaphobics out there than I thought. I thought I was the only crazy one trying to get a "lot" of 10 bottles at once! Oh well, must keep trying!!!!

The kind of toys we bought for the puppy are a chew bone, some sheepskin type stuffed animal, a Kong toy(which is a dog brand that supposedly is indestructible)and some other chew toys. Puppies need lots of distractions so they don't chew my shoes or furniture My last golden liked window sills! I'm hoping this one doesn't!!!

Take care and BIG HUGE HUGS~~~

My dog is pretty darn cute but your kind has got to be one of my all time favorite kinds of puppies and Dakota is definitely no exception. How cute! I just want to grab those cheeks of his. It's amazing that a dog can be so cute that it actually hurts to looks at them...lol. Here's to still thinking he's cute when he keeps you up at night!!

that's one of my fave names. And he's just delicious!
It's a big, benevolent name. I know a boy Dakota, and love the kid. He's taller than me by a foot, and in grade five.
