A Month of Antibiotics!!!!!!

Well, the infectious disease dr's office called and I have Chlamydia Pneumoniae. Its not the same as the sexual chlamydia, its actually am air born "germ" which is in the chlamydia family however, it infects the lungs instead of the sexual organs. Its basically a walking pneumonia!! I guess this explains the shortness of breath I've had for months, the sore throat and wheezing! They actually did an echo cardiogram when I was pregnant for these symptoms but I bet it was this instead!! The treatment, a whole month on anti-biotics!  
There is no direct info that links this with miscarriages but they do know that any infection in the body can cause miscarriages so who knows. One more thing to add to the maybe column but still no solid answers there.
I'm still waiting on the results of the Lymes and a few other things. I can't imagine how my tummy is going to handle a whole month of antibiotics!

Oh no! Are you in any pain?? I do well on antibiotics, but I'm guessing you do not, as far as IBS goes. BIG {{{HUGS}}}}} Michele!!! Call me if you want to vent, girlfriend.

at least its more of an explanation.. though I will say this: a month of antibiotics= a month of junk food for me! I can only poop on them when I have eaten a TON of grease or taken meds to force it out! I'm an A and it always throws me heavily C- I can eat salad all day and still not poop on bactrim!

Whoa. I'm so sorry. I know my tummy HATED being on antibiotics and I couldn't stand it not even for 7 - 10 days. I can't imagine a whole month!!!!

I haven't started them yet, pick'em up on my way home from work. I just did a week of antibiotics a couple of weeks ago and had constant D, like 8-10 times a day, talk about raw bum!  Better stock up on the baby wipes!

Thanks Aime. I am usually C but had AWFUL d a few weeks ago when I did just a weeks worth! We're talking 8-10 times a day, RUNNING, not walking to the bathroom, my bum hasn't recovered from that fully and here we go again!

Yeah, I'm going to take it with donnatol and probably pick up some immodium. I usually take Miralax everyday to poo but I won't be needing that for a while. Be brave, will, lets see, maybe I'll crap so much I'll lose some weight?!!

I just found out I have to take Kflex for 7 days! YUCK!!! I can't imagine a month! Do you take probiotics during this time? I'm hoping like crazy it helps me! Let me know how your tummy handles it. Our bodies are just so odd, aren't they?

Ugh is right! I use heathers Acacia and have for a year or two now and it has the pre-biotic in it, before that, I did take probitoics. I wonder if I should take them again? I know I didn't do well a couple of weeks ago when I did just a weeks worth, not sure how I'm going to make it a whole month!

because at least you have some knowledge of what the heck is going on. And I'm also very relieved it's not sexual chlamydia! Yikes!
Anyhow, TAKE PROBIOTICS!!!!You'll have to do this, and there may be bugs they haven't found yet to kill too. Hugs to you and here's to helth and happiness. You're finally on the road!

Thanks shannon! I'm relieved its not the sexual chlamydia too! I was a little freaked out when I first got the call until I researched it a bit! The one good side effect, its good for acne!

i'm So sorry Michele *hugs* I'm glad you know what's wrong...but it's still hard to swallow...but you continue to have grace and dignity through it all...you're amazing girl!!!
