We have a strawberry shortcake doll around here now. Meike even had sandles with her on them. My girls are obsessed with Strawberry shortcake, my little ponies and they are always bugging me to buy them care bears. I had to buy the strawberry shortcake. Actually that was Meike's gift when she was potty trained. I love the way she smells. Wasn't there a lemon merigue doll too? I loved that one too.
What about cabbage patch kids? Those were from the 80's. You can not tell me you didn't like them. My sister was on waiting lists to get one. She was so proud to go into Toys'r'us with her own money to buy one.

What about Pound Puppies. I was pretty proud when I got the birth certificate for mine!
I never got one for my CPK because it wasn't a real one! I got ripped off LOL - But I was still happy as punch with the one I had LOL
Actually I think I wrote on her butt myself to make her "authentic" LOL.....KIDS!!

I loved pound puppies too. I went to my parents church last month and they had my sister's and my pound puppy in the play area. I told the girls they were ours and they thought it was funny.
I still have my original CPK. It is actually a funny story how I got it. My father insisted I needed to clean my room before we could go to my grandparents house. I was so mad but I went up to clean up my room. I was rambling under my breath about how I didn't want to. My pillow was standing straight up and I couldn't figure out what was behind it. I threw my pillow down and there she was. I had one of the preemies.
I learned a lesson that day that I think about when ever I get upset. I was embarrassed that I was so mad at my father and he was did something so nice. He didn't even make me finish cleaning up my room. It is definatly something I will always remember. Especially when I see my girls playing with that doll. Where is the tissue? LOL

OK - Probably not the best thing to tell an emotional, pregnant girl *sniff, sniff*
It totally sounds like something my dad would have done!
Very sweet!

It's embaressing to admit, but I still have my Cabbage Patch Kids, My Little Ponies, Barbies, Lite Bright, Pound Puppies, Strawberry Shortcake... need I go on? Lol! I was meaning to get rid of them in a garage sale or something, but it just hasn't happened, so there they sit! Maybe they're worth some money now!
I also still have some smurf figurines, a Teddy Ruxpin doll (along with his friend Grubby and a bunch of books and tapes), Transformers and Gobots, and some He-Man and She-Ra dolls. Oy! I could start an 80s museum!

I bought my daughter a "Jamie Pie" doll in '86.It was her favorite toy. She took it every place she went. She still has it. I haven't seen any since then. If they ever made them again, I would buy her another one to keep the first company.
