I was laughing, thinking about it too!! And for added effect you have to picture that my left arm is totally black and green from the nurse last week blowing out the vein on my arm...! Yep, it's just me with my vials and needles under my track-filled arm at the free clinic!! Hey baby wanna date?!

I thought I was nuts about the cold being a factor!! You're so right it makes needle stabbing so much worse!

I limped around for about 40 minutes like I'd pulled a muscle, and then all of a sudden the pain was all gone. My body is such a weird place!

As of press time, BF is still yelling loudly that he DOESN'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT ANY NEEDLES OR SHOTS SO GET THEM AWAY FROM ME. Big manly men are so cute.

This is so embarrassing!

I went for my biweekly tegretol levels, etc. (it was one of those 6-tubes of blood deals @ the lab, a.k.a "vampire's")

I passed out. Just keeled right over & suddenly "blackness."

It was freezing outside. I kept my mittens on while the nurse poked me. After lots of prodding in the first arm without a squirt, she moved to the other arm. I got that belly warm feeling & then a hot flash of nausea...

Needless to say, I forget everything else after that. Let me tell you, that ICE cold water felt so good.

Weird, huh? That's only ever happened to me twice before & once was when I donated blood.

Needles! I just cannot stop staring at the eyes of those needles and thinking of sewing machines & knitting & cross stitch.

Have you passed out yet, Nelly?

It's so hard for them to get a juicy one on cold days.

I hope the shots perk you up. After about 6 weeks or so, I felt the difference in the B12. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but the best way to describe how I felt after a month or so of B12 shots was less "vulnerable" and more "cohesive" or "together." Seriously, I felt so "tender." And my head just wasn't on straight. B12 deficiency (macrocytic anemia) really makes you feel mentally warped or like something melted in the back seat of a car on a warm day. I hope it helps with your fibro.

I felt like a rag doll, today, though...one minute staring at the eye of a needle and the mittens on my hands and the next...

Kate.

I've totally passed out from needles before, which is scary because I get a seizure while I'm out (eyes roll back, hands cup, back arches and spasms wildly)!

I remember nothing, and when I wake up hyperventallating, everybody around me is in a panic. All tests are normal tho, so oh well.

The last time it happened was about 6 years ago. I've come close to passing out since then, but I haven't. I found out that by putting on a little weight, I do it less. When I was ultra-skinny it used to happen all the time. I'm healthy-weight now. On this one chart in my gyn's office I should be 2 inches shorter, but on all the others I exist actually ON the chart now and not off on the left in the blank white space somewhere.
