Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes regarding my surgery. I cannot tell yet how successful it was in relieving the pain I've been in, but bottom line is I did have a good sized hernia and now I don't. So, regardless, it had to be fixed, and it has been. My body is sure trying to adjust to this piece of mesh that now reinforces the lining of my abs in that area - owie owie ouch ouch ouch. It's not so bad though, the pain meds made me so nauseous and dizzy I couldn't get out of bed, so without them I hurt but can at least be up and around - I'll take that trade off. Time will tell here, but overall not a bad experience at all. Worst was trying to get an IV, as always took 3 nurses and 5 sticks and just a nightmare, they always say my veins are "collapsed" whatever the heck that means. Once they finally got the IV in it was all downhill from there.
thanks everyone, really!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear some of your pain has been relieved. I will pray for a speedy recovery for you. You need it so you can run around after those precious kids of yours. I hope you have some help while you are recovering.

I'm sorry they had such an awful time with the stupid IV, I always have the same probelm! I had to give 9 vials of blood the other day and ended having to get poked three times to do it! I'm really hoping that this surgery will make all the pain you've been having go away!! Feel better soon! Hugs!

Hi, Michelle! Glad you are able to get up and around now, even though I know it must hurt. I hope it was ok with you that I posted an update yesterday. I figured everyone was wondering how you were doing, and I didn't think you'd mind.
Who's tending to the kids? Your MIL????

So good to hear from you! Yay for that hernia being taken from your body! Good riddens!
I hope the relief of pain you have already experienced from removing the hernia proves to be a permanent solution to all your pain, sweetie.
Love ya, Michelle!

so kids are tended to.
Now if I can just live through the first BM .... I dread it so bad but it's gotta happen, for goodness sake. Hurts just to strain enough to pass a wee bit of gas!!! (I know, TMI, yipes!!) This is the kind of stuff no one tells you about surgeries!
