I actually have the hang of the knit stitch and can get a few rows knitted without making some silly boo-boo. My couch (and my husband ) are safe!

I have a ways to go before I tackle a project but I thank you for your cheers and encouragement!

Merry Christmas!

Good for you! You GO, Girl!

If you should happen to drop a stitch, you pick it up by using a crochet hook. Think of the rows as rungs on a ladder. You go to the stitch that's been dropped, hook it around your crochet hook, and then you "weave" it in and out from ladder rung to ladder rung until you finally get up to the needle itself. It's actually kinda fun to do.

I think you're ready for a dishcloth. That pattern I sent you is very easy, and it's all knit (no purl), an excellent project to begin with and to learn from.

BTW, I'll tell you the same thing I told Mags when she first started knitting: do NOT throw out your first project; KEEP IT in your cedar chest and forget about it. Then, several projects later, pull it out and congratulate yourself on how much you've improved. I very much regret getting rid of my first project; I wish I still had it.

You ROCK, Girlfriend! I'm very impressed. And you're welcome.

Bevvy

My first project was an all-knit dishcloth... and yes, I still have it! And I'm glad I do - it's a reminder of how far I've come. Wise words, Bev!

And YAY, Rachel! Welcome to the addiction! Hee hee hee...

Did you e-mail a pattern to me at emailrachelk@yahoo.com? It never arrived...if you left it here on the boards, I missed it. Please resend it.

I put the knitting away for today, I was just practicing rows and getting my tension right. It's funny how uncoordinated I feel...having been a home ec major an all!

I am having fun with it!

My last loop (when everything is on the right needle) always looks funny. Is it because it is the initial slip stitch?
