Lit nerds -- anyone ever read Kafka's "The Trial"?

I'm reading it now for what is supposed to be my fun class, Law and Literature. I'm on page 50 and I still have no idea what's going on. It's really annoying me -- I can't stand when authors play games like that. Has anyone else ever read this, and does it get better? I'm ready to throw the thing across the room!!!!

The only Kafka I've ever read is the Metamorphosis... BUT my partner is doing his undergrad thesis on Kafka For The Trial, he says the SparkNotes are pretty good. HTH! Good luck!
