The house I had mice in was less than 2500 square feet...a mouse or two no smell.
I grew up in a house twice that size and due to the acreage behind us we had mice in that home (pretty much the basement) as well. I am no stranger to D-con but never smelled "rotten rodent" .
Thank goodness there are no mice in this house. We have an outdoor cat and I believe that helps.

Okay..well..this comes from experience...unfortunately! My husband's old apartment had RATS!! Yup....big, wet rats. They came from the sewer/toilet!! I know I know....freaking GROSS!! I think......I might be wrong here.......but you can tell RATS from MICE b/c rats are bigger and have long tails...mice are usually small and have short tails... Ohhhh...that has brought back soo many sick memories! If possible, I would call on the men in the white suits to spray!

Ewww is right!! I would think they are mice, I've heard rats are very big! I think you are very brave for cleaning that mess up on your own! I would be calling the rental office or association or whatever like every 15 minutes until they send someone over!! Ick!!
Oh, and I agree, if the mice pooped on the boxes of pasta, they probably peed too! Not worth the couple of dollars for a box of pasta to me!

well the thing is, is that I live in the condo and although I do have a condo association, I own the condo.
so basically the landlord to complain to is myself.

Well, I'd definitely let the condo assocation know because where ther eis one mouse, there is likely more and I'm sure that your condo isn't the only one having little four legged visitors!

Yes rats have longer, thicker tails and they are not shy at all of humans. I ahd them in a house I rented before but they were "raken care of" before I moved in. They came through a tiny drain in the basement laundry room. ICK!!
