We celebrated my birthday last night with my husband, the kids and I going to "Smokey Bones BBQ" and having dinner together. I ate safe food and still managed for my stomach to blow up like a blow fish...who knows. No matter really, I feel great today!
No major gifts or anything like that because we have spent quite a bit on the move and getting two middle schoolers situated for school was a major drain on my checkbook!
I don't know that I have shared before that though my husband and I have been married almost 20 years...years 10-15 were awful. During the same years, my daughter had a major chemical imbalance called Sensory Integration Disorder and my son was having issues having been adopted as a three-year old and was a total toot...having an "absent husband" (even when he was here...he was checked out emotionally so essentially unavailable) was something awful.
The last 4 years have been a dream. My husband became a Christian and essentially came back to the family. He interacts with the kids...and me...even the cat! The dogs drive him batty but you can't win them all!
I share all that drama to say that having dinner with my husband and my kids where we all sit and talk with each other...and I get to hold hands with my husband on the way to the car and snuggle up to him as I fall asleep is all the present I need. I am so blessed.
Lots of friends and family have called and sent cards...mom sent money yay!...sweet wishes from my friends on the board. It has been a wonderful birthday.
Much love to all of you....
