HI everyone! I am sure glad to have come across this website! I have just been through 4 weeks of torture! I have been diagnosed as having IBS. I have always had tummy problems but nothing like the past month. I am slowly feeling better with the help of buscopan, modulan and amitriptaline. I feel overloaded with questions and concerns. Thanks to the recipes...I have been eating better. I am cautious of what I eat and check the cheat sheet all the time. I look forward to chatting with you all.

Welcome! Don't worry. We all felt overwhelmed. It will take time but you WILL feel better. Just be patient with yourself. It takes a while to get the hang of this - learning about triggers, learning your own tolerances. Ask away with those questions! We're here for you and what's more - we've BEEN THERE. Hugs, Alicia.

Thanks for the pep talk! I appreciate your kind words. It is nice to know that there is this message board. I have to say that tonight I took a huge step. (I have been eating small portions of rice or boiled potatoes for the last couple of days to try and get my tummy back in gear.) But tonight, I had a break through! I had a chicken sandwich on sourdough bread with a soy mayonnaise. I am not a fish eater so my choices of meal menus are kinda limited. 8-0

And I survive JUST fine on this diet. Give it a chance. Once you feel better, trust me, you will not feel as bad about giving up things. It's WORTH IT!!!!!!!!! You WILL feel better. Hugs, Alicia.

Well...funny that yesterday I was almost bragging about eating a chicken salad sandwich with lettuce, tomato and soy mayonnaise and today I am feeling yucky!....argh!......I also had white toast with a smidgen of peanut butter this morning....could that of triggered a tummy ache???....I am getting desperate here...I go a couple of days feeling great....and then a whopping tummy ache strikes....8-(... What is the secret to fighting the tummy ache once it starts?....
