Glad to hear you are having fun! I'm doing the same as always -- taking too much on, thriving on being busy, and finding reasons to complain about it. I have a summer job at a really friendly firm with nice lawyers (nope, that's not an oxymoron), and I am really hoping they will offer me a position for after graduation (in just 10 months, woohoo!). I'm editor-in-chief of moot court too, and we are running a big competition right now to pick our new members. So, I'm back and forth between work and school constantly, and I only go home to crash. In the last 3 weeks I think I've eaten twice and washed my hair four times. I'm exhausted, but I love it! Having a little drama with the bf, the whole "where is this going" bit, but I'm doing my best to be patient and hang in there -- nobody likes to be bullied into committment. So, we'll see. I'm dropping the subject for six months and will revisit it after new year's if there is no change.
That's about it here with me! Ugh, I just got highlighter on the cuff of my suit ... such is the life of a summer associate, I suppose.
IBS-wise I've been okay, probably around a 7. I was feeling like a 10 for so long that a 7 feels like crap, but I remember the months on end that I was constantly in pain, and I feel lucky again. With all this stress and lack of sleep I need to pay a lot more attention to "the rules" than I normally do. I get away with a yogurt here and there but other than that I've had to be really careful. Stupid IBS! How are you feeling? I know you stopped strictly following the diet for a while -- how is that going? I'm the last person to judge anyone for that. I say do what feels good!
Don't be a stranger!

Well, lets see . . . yeah, it's true. I've been off Heather's program TOTALLY for quite awhile now. I've even eaten dead cow (ew, gross) and yep, even ice cream -- REAL ice cream. What else? Oh yeah, of course my beloved coffee. That too. Every morning at least two cups. Oh, and lots of fresh fruits and veggies -- LOTS -- and few white flour stuff. No bread, no rice, none of the stuff we're supposed to have. And of course no SFS! No way!

I'm BAAAAAD! (Not to mention my Jack. Can't go without my Jack!)

Yeah, I've gotten pretty sick, but it turned out that it was bad side effects from the meds I was taking. As soon as I stopped that stuff, I immediately got back to my old rotten self. No more puking uncontrollably. Yaaay!

Okay, so the ice cream didn't work for me. Even with the Lactaid, I got pretty violently ill. So no more ice cream for this gal! It doesn't even tempt me now. (Well, I'm back on my old beloved Soy Dream frozen dessert, but that doesn't count.)

But as for that dead cow . . . watch out, mama! I can't stop eating BURGERS! Hubby and I barbecue every night -- ground up carcass of a dead cow. Pretty gross, eh? (Them's DAMN good eatins!) I'm making up for 20 years of abstinence, Girls!

Oh, and the local pizza parlor knows me well now. They don't even ask what I want; they just wait for me to pull out a package of soy mozzarella from my purse, then they make my pizza with it. Next I'm gonna take 'em some turkey pepperoni! Oooh, baby!

Doin' lots of kayaking and having a ball.

I'll see ya later --

BAAAD Bevvy OUT.

I found you again! Hi, my long lost friend! So glad to see you on the boards....you started from the begining and it just ain't the same without you!

So, if you aren't doing Heather's diet, how are you feeling with eating beef and all the no no's? Are you better than you were on the diet? Maybe you never had IBS....but then what could it have been? What ya think about that one!

Hey, did you ever test the gluten free diet to see if gluten was a problem for you?

So good to see your "face" again!! Don't leave us again, young lady! I missed you sooooooooooooooo much!

I follow my own version of Heather's diet too, and I am craving burgers everyday. Watched Iron Kitchen last night and the ingredient was ground beef and MAN did it make me hungry! Nothing beats a burger on the grill!
I think you have to just do what works for you, which is what I do. I thought I needed to follow the diet very strictly but it turns out I don't, I guess I'm lucky.

Oh and BTW--I can't do ice cream either. Isn't that a bummer? Thank goodness for all the soy options out there now, and that the local ice cream parlor has a good soy cinnamon caramel, so I don't have to feel like a loser and not get any.

I love burgers too.. and when I go out I still eat cheeseburgers everyonce in awhile and rarely get instant d like I would if I ate alfredo, or lasagna or something like that.

they are just too too yummy to pass up. Plus my friends from college know me as the burger queen.. all through college whenever we'd go out to dinner i'd always get a burger bc I loved them so much. haha hard to give up.

OMG! What ice cream parlor is that? Please tell me it's a chain that has a Washington State location near me. OMG, that sounds FANTASTIC!

Yeah, I had to give up the ice cream, but I make our ADBs ("AntiDepressant Brownies"), put two small ones on a plate, then cover them with vanilla "Soy Dreams" frozen dessert and microwave for a few seconds. Oooooooh, BABY!

So who needs dairy, eh?

Bev
