Hey Guys,
Sorry I haven't been around too much, I've been reading up on all your posts but have had to limit my time on the computer because of some trouble with my legs. That rash that I had turned out to be vasculitis, but my doc right now has no idea what's causing it. It keeps getting worse and now I've also got cyanosis in my toes and swelling of my feet and ankles. Has anyone had any experience with anything like this? My doc didn't even know what to advise me to do, so I have to wait to see an internist in a few weeks. My legs really hurt as well, and I can't seem to get any relief, they just feel very cramped up.
Any advice would be great ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif) Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there as well

Vasculitis can be caused by an allergy, or come along with Rheumatoid Arthritis or Lupus or Sjogren's syndrome. Have they excluded RA and Lupus and Sjogren's syndrome? (Sjögren's syndrome is an inability of the body to produce the needed moisture... think dry-eye, cottonmouth etc. It can be a standalone disease, or secondary to RA or lupus.)
You should be on a corticosteriod. (Those weaken your immune system, so they may also order antibiotics along with the steroids.) Sometimes they also order low-dose chemotherapeutic drugs.
It's a chronic condition, so if vasculitis is the correct diagnosis, it is something you will deal with for the rest of your life. With proper treatment, it won't shorten your natural lifespan.
{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}} I know this is scary. Hang in there. I'm glad you're seeing an internist, but you may want to see if they can bump up the appointment. A few weeks is a long time when you're in pain.

That sounds awful!! Lots of hugs coming your way and really hope you feel better soon. You have been suffering for too long.
I don't understand Canada's healthcare system. Why do you have to wait another few weeks to see an Internist who will than give you another referral to see a Specialist. It seems like you are suffering way too much and I'm sorry it makes me mad and sad at the same time.

I agree, I don't see why you have to wait another few weeks! You've already waited so long trying to figure out what was wrong! I'm sorry, but I don't know anything about this condition. I hope you find a dr soon who can help and that you get some relief! Lots of love and hugs!
