We just found out that I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First off, you know I had my gallbladder removed 2.5 weeks ago, and when I had the surgery they did a blood test and said I wasn't pregnant....well, turns out I was - about 12 hours pregnant so it didn't show up. (I'm guessing I was about 12 hours pregnant cuz that's the only time we had sex for about a week before my surgery!)
SO - I went to the doctor yesterday and since we're not sure of the due date becasue my cycle is so screwy, I'll have an early sonogram in 2 weeks. She felt the little bean in me! Also, she took 9 viles of blood (I about passed out), to check my HCG levels since I was on all those pain killers and everything - kinda scary. But she thinks everything should be ok. I have to be retested tommorrow to make sure the levels doubled. So I'll keep you all informed!
I knew I was pregnant - my boobs are KILLING me, even the water in the shower hurt. And they are bigger - yay! And - I was SO nausous a few nights ago and I thought I had a migraine all night....and the past few mornings I've had the worst stomach ache and D. So I think I'm about 2.5 weeks right now, and I should be due around Christmas! Crazy huh?? So keep me in your thoughts that this goes smoothly, I'm so scared and so excited at the same time. I'll be crying one second and jumping up and down the next. My family is so excited. It is just is amazing - it hasn't completely 'clicked' with me yet....it's just so emotional when it actually happens. So many things go through your head right away.
It's funny....we've been really trying for over a year...and this month we tried NOT to because of my surgery. God has a way of telling me who's in charge I guess
I'm so happy!

Hi Cara, Congratulations!!! That is amazing news!! It is so ironic that it was when you stopped trying that voila, BABY! I am so happy for you, I'll bet when you get a sonogram and all that it will really sink in more for you.
Let us know how all your tests go and everything, and don't forget to take pictures of your growing belly over the next few months!!
Congrats again, I am so happy for you! **hugs** --Steph

Congrats!! I think we got cut off on the phone yesterday but I wanted to let you know to expect a book in the mail! I ordered you The girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy! I LOVe this book! I think its a riot! I think any first time expectant mommy should read it! So, its on its way!
As for the boobs, I hear ya sister! Mine would hurt SO bad, I had to start sleep in a sports bra! Go to target or somewhere cheap and get some sports bra's and TRUE drawstring pants. By TRUE drawstring pants, I mean NO elastic in the front! Target has some cute ones on sale right now! I found that I got even more bloated (didn't think that was possible ) when I was pregnant.
The emotional rollercoatser isn't fun, I was the same way, laughing one second and balling my eyes out the next, poor Will couldn't keep up! LOL!! I was NOT rational about anything. And the SMELLS, OMG, I swear I could smell a mouse fart three counties away! HEHE!! I had to stop feeding the cats because there food would make me gag! I couldn't eat anything unless I smelled it first and it didn't turn my tummy! But, I'll gladly do it all again!!! Hopefully, I'll only be a month or two behind you!
Keep us posted on your testing! Lots of Love and Hugs!

That's just wonderful news! I know how it goes with the boobs. That and the nausea will likely ease in say oh, 10 weeks!???! Get yourself some ginger root for the nausea. Slice the size of a quarter in a mug of boiling water. It really helped me a lot. Don't worry about the painkillers. The implantation doesn't even take place till like what? 10 days after sex? That means baby wasn't even hooked up to your system when you were taking the most painkillers.

Why did you have your gallbladder removed?
How is it affecting your IBS? Did you get the chronic diarrhea that oftens results from removal?

Congratulations! I'm so excited for you. I just have to tell you, enjoy every moment. That is my piece of advice for every new mom. You only get all these firsts once. Get as much sleep as you can now and let people wait on you because next time they won't lol. No seriously, enjoy it. I miss it so much and would love another but after this week, I'm ready to send my hubby to get snipped. Trust me, I wouldn't have to push him either hehehe.
BTW, I have a friend that this happened to. She had female surgery and they told her there was no way she could get pregnant that month but she did. It does seem when you aren't trying is when it really happens. Congratultions again! Keep us posted. You'll love being a mom.

I'm so happy for your wonderful news! This is so exciting! I'm very happy for you.
I hope you don't get MS to bad! So of us do and some of us don't! That ultrasound will be so much fun. It's amazing how much these little ones grow. I had a ultrasound at 4,5,6,12 and 18 wks. Each one I was amazed at the growth!
Congrats! This is just wonderful!
You need to check out babycenter web site. You'll love it there. Lots of fun info and you can join the December due date club!
Take care and keep us posted on your progress!!!

Thank you SO much! All your replies are so sweet! I am still trying to soak this all in....yesterday I had to watch some neighbor kids all day, and they rush home and get ready to go to Victoria's Secret all night, so I had no time to think!
I got my first blood test results yesterday and they all looked normal. Now I go in again this morning and I'll get results this afternoon to see if my HCG levels are doing ok! SO be praying that they are!
I slept for about 1 hour on Wednesday night....last night I slept a little better - maybe 5 hours. I'm not tired though, I have so much on my mind! I know it'll catch up to me
Michele - you rock! Thanks for sending me that book! I'm sorry we got cut off - I have never used all the batteries in my phone by 3:00 in the afternoon before - lol! HUGE HUGS to you, and it is your turn now - we are doing this together remember?!?!
LittleLisa - I am not little!! LOL! I'm so tall I bet it'll take awhile for me to show Except I swear I am already constantly hungry. My stomach growls at least every 2 hours!
Ashley - Justin is so cute. He's so excited, he wants to tell everyone! He told 4 of my neighbors (the husbands of my best friends here!!) before I had the chance! My neighbor goes, 'He was standing in the street waiting for people to walk by'. He's really going to be a great dad, he is thrilled!
Augie - I got my gallbladder out because I was having nights where I had to go to the ER because of terrible pain and vomiting. THey kept telling me it wasn't my gallbladder, but I was researching it and KNEW that's what it was! I finally had a scan done, and it was so infected that I had to have rushed surgery the next day! It was causing my pancreas to swell, and I was passing stones daily! So...I'm glad I got it out right away, timing is unbelievable since I think I got pregnant that day before surgery. I have had D lately in the mornings...but I'm sure that's from pregnancy. Acutally, after sugery I was C for about 8 days and it was miserable.
Steph - thanks for that website! I am checking into it right now! I have so much to read and learn, it's exciting...I just never thought it would actually happen to me.
Everyone else - thanks so much!! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world right now!
I'll keep you updated! HUGS!! ~Cara

That is wonderful news!!!! How does it feel to be a mommy-to-be????? Pretty cool huh?
Keep us updated on your progress, and what ever you do... if you get really sick, don't let it discourage you! Take it from someone who's still struggling with it! It's very difficult to go through, but just keep reminding yourself that the end result is well worth it!

Thanks! Ya know what I have to say about MS and pain and stuff....BRING IT ON! I have been waiting so long for this, that as long as I can have a healthy baby in 9 months, I don't care what I have to go through! Sure I'll probably complain, but mainly to the hubby!
I hope yours gets better soon.....when is your due date again?? Are you showing at all?

Well my last period was March 7th....but I didn't ovulate until about CD30 apparantly, because I had surgery on that day, and the blood test said I wasn't pregnant. We really don't know when I concieved for sure, that's why I'm having the sonogram....so we can actually have due date!
That's cool that you're starting to show! Yay!

Ok, if you think you O'd on CD30, take that date and subtract 30 days. That's the day that you start counting for your pg calendar. For instance... I started my last period on Feb.9th, that date was 10 weeks and 3 days ago, so I'm 10 weeks and 3 days pregnant.

A typical pregnancy is figured from the day a woman starts her period... the first day of her period would be the first day of her pregnancy. So the 1st week of a pregnancy is when AF shows, the 2nd week (or there abouts) is when she ovulates and fertilization takes place, the 3rd and 4th weeks are when implantation takes place and so on. That being said, yours obviously isn't a typical pregnancy because you ovulated late, so there are things that need to be accounted for when figuring your due date. My guess is that you're at least 4 weeks if not 5 weeks along. Of course, I'm not a doctor and I can't tell you for sure, but when you take into consideration everything that has to happen before a pregnancy is a pregnancy... you get the idea.
