We were poor university students. We had been looking at rings, and decided to have it custom made. I saw two diamonds and three settings and I left and sat in the car. He gave me this whole speech about how he just couldn't afford it in time for Christmas at which point I said "OK no problem" because I knew it was coming anyway... So 2 days before Christmas he shows up with a box in his hand. I thought he was bluffing and called him on it. He opened the box so I could get a peek and snapped it shut. Then he proposed and I bawled. We woke up both sets of parents to tell them. We've been blissfully married for 7 years now.

Hey Ruchie..
If you're looking for a combo art project/romantic gift, you should print a copy of the poem in a fancy font and decorate around it.. and then frame it! He'll be touched that you remembered and you can put it up somewhere in your house.

This is definitely true- I did this for my husband with a poem I wrote that I read at our wedding. He loved it.

Jennifer,
That's a BEAUTIFUL idea! I don't have a printer though...or a disk drive that works Any suggestions as to how I can print the poem in some other way? I guess I could e-mail it to a friend! LOL It could be a LOT of fun to decorate a frame! They have so many elegant crafts nowadays...esp. in the wedding sections!
What a wonderful idea. Can I keep it a secret that it was your idea?
Thanks Jennifer!
*hugs*
