My life has been SO busy lately. I'm on the competition team for Moot Court at my law school, and our brief is due this week. After we turn that in, we have a MONTH of oral arugment practicing. Then we finally have the competition the first week of March. On top of that, I've had all of my regular classes, have been going to the gym, and working. And this weekend I'm going to Boston, because my bf will be there (he lives in London). Writing this brief has been brutal. I have the typical situation of a partner who did NOTHING, and I've been working hard on this since Christmas. Thursday night I stupidly stayed out at karaoke, drank way too much, and got to bed at 3:30. I had to be at school at 9am on Friday so it wasn't my smartest move, but it was so much fun. I had been working so hard all week getting my brief ready for our big read-through, and I needed the release! Friday and Saturday I was at school 9am-3am. Sunday I got out around midnight. Monday and Tuesday I was there until 11:30, and I've had class both days too. It's exhausting, but it is almost done so we are in good shape. It has to go to the printer on Friday. I am just so tired of arguing over every line, especially because my POS partner shouldn't have the nerve to suggest ANYTHING since I'm the one who did all the original writing. I don't care about the structure or anything, but he's arguing with me on points of law, because he's read one case and thinks he's an expert. So frustrating. Plus now I feel like I'm getting a sinus infection, which STINKS because I ran through my Rx allowance on my insurance and will have to pay out of pocket for everything else. So annoying. I am going to see if I can't get over it without antibiotics, but if I still feel crappy in a week I think I'll have to cave and cough up the money. In other news, I got the official news that I am moving the first week of March (which incidentally, will be the week of my competition). Hopefully my parents will help with that. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, since I know that my life is pretty exciting -- just exhausting! There are only so many days in a row that I can sleep 4 hours and work 17, and order take-out for every meal. Thankfully the tummy has held up pretty well. I even got through the whole week up until today without drinking coffee, so I'm sure that helped. I had to have a double espresso today though because I was nodding off in class . I also left one of my classes halfway through on Monday to go home and sleep, because I couldn't keep my eyes open. My teeth ache and my ears are itchy and my nose is all stuffed up, and my cheeks are swollen -- classic sinus infection signs. Plus being so fatigued even though I got 8hrs of sleep on Sunday night and Monday night, I should have put this all together. I'm just gonna try to load up on the vitamins and see if I can beat it. Anyway, obviously I wanted to meet up with Sinead and the crew on Friday night, but unfortunately I was trapped in the Moot Court office ALL NIGHT, and I missed my cousin's birthday party as well. PLUS, my brother and SIL slept over that night because they went to the party. So when I finally got home at 3, they were asleep in my double bed and I slept on my twin pull-out. So much fun ... I was bummed that I didn't get to see them at all really. They left before I even got out of bed in the morning!
The good news is that my bf has been amazingly incredible and supportive. He's calling me all the time to encourage me and tell me how much of a turn-on it is that I am working so hard on something so challenging, etc. Sunday night I was almost in tears as I dragged myself to my apartment door, so exhausted ... and there were flowers! Pretty bright flowers in a basket with a teddy bear and some hershey's kisses. The boy knows how to please me! And we are planning our big trip for my Spring break. I'll fly to London, and from there we are going to Turkey and possibly Greece. I am really excited, and will definitely be ready for a vacation at that point! I got a good deal on my plane tix to London, so I'm happy about that, and bf is taking care of the rest of the traveling expenses. (Students, by the way, take a look at www.studentuniverse.com for cheap flights).
Okay, sinus pain is overtaking me, time for some bed with Mr. Mahoney (hehehe, my hypnotic pseudoboyfriend).
I hope everyone is well!

Oh man you have been busy!!

I know what you mean about working so hard and being at school like that - but thankfully when I have to do that it's only about the 2 weeks before a project is due and I'll be there till they kick us out at 3am and then I'm banging down the door to get in at 9am the next morning. You are going to be a great lawyer though with all the dedication you have. And you have every right to complain or whatever because you must be exhausted - and that doesn't mean you don't like it - you can have a love/hate relationship with school.

And how great that your boyfriend is being so sweet! You've got a keeper! Your spring break trip sound like it will be fabulous. And you're right, that studentuniverse site is awesome - I bought my tickets from there when I went to Italy and my train pass and everything.

Well take care of yourself and get over that sinus infection and good luck with school!!

Where in Turkey are you going? I went twice last year to visit my bf who was there for a semester of study abroad and then a semester of an internship there; I had a fabulous time, it's gorgeous there!

Stock up on your vitamins and feel better soon!

WoW! I am amazed, you sure are somethin'!
Brittany is right, all this hard work will pay off, you will be an excellent lawyer.
There is always a person in every group project that is the slacker, it is good that you are keeping the peace so that you can get through the assignment.
Your bf is so sweet! That was very cute, he's a keeper! I am sure you knew that, though.
Good luck with your Moot Court, and make sure that you take care of yourself.

AP, you poor sweetie! You work so hard, you DESERVE to go out and blow off some steam. School so gets in the way of sleep and a social life, I know! I hate it when you get stuck with a bum project partner. I've had my share in spades! (do people still say "in spades"?? OK never mind! )

Well, you're going to have a fine degree when this is all over, and that trip overseas sounds like just the thing to get your head straight! I could have never gotten through school without a supportive BF (had a different one each year, tee heee ) and yours sounds like a keeper!!

Stay strong and plow right through the rest of this semester! You're on the right track and you're going to show your partner how it's done!

Best of luck to you!!
