My Job Situation (Good News)

So, most of you guys know about my current job situation. I have just begun to start interviewing. Last week I had an interview with another firm. It went really well. They guy I met with used to work at my old firm but left before I started, however, we knew a lot of the same people. Well, it turns out he liked me a lot and probably want to offer me the job.

I received a phonecall from a guy I used to work with this week too. He has been interviewing and he mentioned me to a woman that he had interviewed with. Apparently, she was looking for a manager and he suggested me. So now she wants to meet with me. And I also have another interview this week in addition to that!

Who would have thought I'd be such a hot commodity? It feels nice to be wanted, after feeling so not wanted by my current job. For me its about respect. I feel like my current job doesn't respect me and I need to go elsewhere for that respect. Sort of like Pedro Martinez leaving Boston and signing with my hometown NY Mets. They gave him respect and more money than Boston. (FYI, for those of you who don't know Pedro Martinez is a baseball player who recently signed a $53 million 4 year contract with the Mets) That is what I am looking for was well. I mean my boss and his boss are awesome people. They really are. I just don't feel the company itself respects me.
I just have to go out and get it.

Well, that is it. I have rambled enough for this post.

Hey, hey, hey! You will get another job soon. I can feel it!

That's great that everyone wants to interview you.

I am also looking for a new job but haven't had any interviews or phone calls. Maybe some day. My plan is to find a new job that I 'love' in 2005.

Best of luck with your job hunt.

Good luck with all those interviews... but from the sounds of things, you're not going to need a whole lot more luck!

The time is definitely right for you to leave this less-than-spectacular job and move on... you're destined for bigger and better things.

It's always great to feel like you have options and you are wanted in your field, especially now with the economy and all. If I could ask a stupid question, what exactly do you do?? It sounds like you're some sort of agent...?

Good luck, Tommy! Although I don't think you'll need the luck as you'll definitely do well with whichever job you chose.

Thank you for the kind words everyone. I appreciate it very much.

Angie, no I wish I was an agent. A sports agent negotiating $100 million contracts would be VERY nice. I work in the financial industry. I make sure the stock brokers that work for our firm comply with the rules & regs of the SEC. Sort of like internal affairs for brokers. I also help to enforce the US PATRIOT Act at my firm.

Well, my recruiter just called me. I am meeting with FIVE people in one day Friday. I am goin to need a drink after that! That is going to be very stressful but at least I don't have to come back after that. I will be meeting with everyone I have to meet in one day.

That's it for now. Hope everyone is staying warm today!
