My SIL is full term right now, due any day. Her birthday is Nov 17, and I thought a nice thing to do would be to make a bunch of dinners for her and my brother, and freeze them for her, so they don't have to worry about meals for a little while. She will definitely have had the baby by then. I'm thinking maybe I'll make 10 different dinners. She is allergic to all fish and all shellfish, strawberries, and kiwis. I'm just wondering if there is any other food groups that new, nursing mothers are suposed to avoid for their sake or the baby's. Does anyone have any info on this? Or any knowledge about indigestion or anything like that, if it's a factor after giving birth? Thanks! PS any menu suggestions are welcome too .

Lasagna freezes VERY well, as does baked ziti, chicken parmigan, and any kind of casserole. Try to stay away from stinky veggies (broccoli, asparagus, brussel sprouts) as they will give mom and baby gas. Also, really spicy foods can make the baby sick. Soups freeze well. . . if you want any of my recipes, let me know and I can email them to you You're so sweet for doing this!!

if she can eat cheese and meat....

a batch of homemade mac and cheese might be nice

fajitas.. just stir fry some peppers, onions, and beef or chicken and freeze it with some tortillas and cheese in a bag on top.. those freeze fine..

muffins freeze well for an easy breakfast..

i'll try to think of some more..
