Bill isn't coping with this one well.. he saw the smoke last night and had to ask what it was... I went next door and listened to the firefighters responding from 3 counties to help put it out on her scanner.. He was a huge history buff... we watched some on the news last night... hufe flames and clouds of smoke that from the tv report and what we witnessed could be seen for 20 miles around....

I know.. it was on all the news channels last night and Bill and I saw the smoke.. and its front page of the Ann Arbor news today too .

Normally I watch the 11:00 oclock news but last night I was to tired and went to bed! I read the link you gave!!! How sad! I hope the figure out what started it, and if it was arson I hope the catch the S.O.B'S who did it!! That was a huge part of our Michigan history!!

I remember Willow Run Airport very well. It played a huge part in history because of the link to the auto companies conversion to making airplanes for World War II. My Uncle Bill who just died recently was a pilot in the war and flew some of those planes. He would have been heartbroken if he were still here.
