I had an abdominal CT yesterday. I had to drink the Gastrografin contrast. I've had bad diarrhea and cramping ever since. Finally got some doctor advice this morning and started taking some Pepto, but my stomach is really angry. It just makes me mad that they give someone like me with severe IBS with D that kind of stuff and then not warn me about the possible side effects afterwards. It's just like the usual prep for the colonoscopy is entirely too strong for me, but they don't listen.

Anyhow, I'm just waiting until I can finally have some real food again.

Anybody have this reaction to the contrast material?

Oh, and to add to my problems my period started yesterday and it has been terrible.

I am so sorry you feeling bad!!! Test suck! I am going to have a tummy ct next month probbaly ( my doc said something about it last night) So thank you for the heads up. I hope you staring feeling better soon!!

Well, if that contrast has the effect on you that it did on me -- good luck. This has been right there with the prep for the colonoscopy.
