I had to drop off some letters at the Post Office. I also had Dr.s orders for the lab to be done today, in my haste, I left them on my bedroom dresser. (I did not realize I had done this, I thought they were folded and tucked safely inside my purse) When I stopped by the PO, I thought I had accidentally dropped them in the box along with the letters! Well, cr@p! I go inside, the nicest lady is waiting on me, she says it is no big deal, people do it all day long, we filled out a form, I had to pay $3.00 to cover the procedure. We opened the box, both of us looked through it twice, no Lab papers. I thanked her, she was soooo nice, man was I miffed at myself. Being that it was too far to drive back home, I called the Dr. office, they happily made me a copy and I was on my way once again. I felt like an idiot, going inside and telling them what an idiot I really was. It was not long until I was at the Hospital having the blood drawn. Later this evening I walked into the bedroom and there the orders sit, as big as you please, on the dresser top!!! I decided then and there that there was no need to tell anyone about this silly thing. Before I knew it, I was calling my dil and telling her how mad I was at myself. Around here we make a big production at laughing at ourselves and making light of anything that could have made our day troublesome, or just a pain in the butt!! For some reason, I had it in my head that I had put those papers inside my purse, when I never did.
It happens to all of us, one way or another. I did though tell the postal worker that I had a friend who needed someone like her in my friends post office. She smiled and wished me a good day!!
ITs ok to laugh at me, I do it all of the time !!
love you Ruchie !!!

I once tried turn the alarm off at work by waving my key fob in front of the intercom. Half an hour later when we FINALLY turned it off I realised my mistake, but had to pretend that I had a faulty fob that needed reprogramming!!!!
Boy did I feel silly!!!

Oh, Gigi! Thanks for the good laugh. I needed that one! That sounds like something I would do.
Another Post Office story---
The other day I drive up to the PO to mail my son his first package at college. I knew I had written his new address on a post-it note, and like you, I thought it was in my purse. After searching the interior of my purse and wallet and not finding it, I started looking in the car. I looked under each seat, between the seats, in the glovebox, etc. Finally, I open the car door and crawled in the backseat (of our 2-door car) to look for it. I guess I looked ridiculous because I looked up and the two people sitting in the car next to me were giving me the most puzzled look. I'm sure they wondered what in the heck was so important! (But I was determined to find it!)
Finally, I found it---- in the back seat. The problem was the address was on a PINK post-it note ----and stupid me, I had been searching for a YELLOW one. I could've sworn it was on a yellow sheet of paper!
I think I'm losing my mind!

Hey guys,
I am laughing so hard at your stories. Here's mine. I was driving in my car and kept hearing this little music tune. It wasn't the radio but I kept hearing it. Where was it coming from? I thought I was going nuts. It was so spooky. What was that sound....am I crazy???? Well, when I went to take stuff out of my trunk I found my son's goofy beer mug that plays music when you move it.....that's what was making the music while the car was moving. Boy, was I glad I wasn't nuts after all.
Also, I was looking for my keys the other day and I had them in my hand the whole time. Ha Ha!!

Oh, and I've definitely done THAT. I was at my favorite thrift store - I'm there so often that the guys who run it are actually friends of mine now - and suddenly I was like, "Where are my keys??" Now, the shop is really big and very cluttered, so pretty soon we had EVERY employee and customer in the store crawling around and moving displays looking for my keys...
...which were in my pocket the entire time.
The guys ribbed me for that one, and I deserved it!

Hubby's done it too!
I think if you HAVEN'T done these things, you're just not cool
Thanks for sharing!
Love ya!

You may not be loosing your mind tody.....but....with the ability of those darned postit notes to change colors, its enough to drive all of us to the looney bin!
We have to learn to laugh at outselves, life could be so much worse, so much more sad, and full of pain. All we have is right now, we better laugh when we find those darned keys in our hands, and the post its have changed color on us again!!! hahaha
