I just had to tell you guys ... I was just on Amazon checking out my Recommendations (Amazon gives you a list of things they think you will like, based on your past purchases). Because I originally bought Heather's books from Amazon, they are always recommending other IBS books for me. I was reading the review of one, and this is what it said:
Quote:
Very Informative Book, August 16, 2004 Reviewer: NurseBetty - See all my reviews This was great night reading, and it helped me digest my food great if I read it before I ate. I have been incorporating more soy in my diet and given up drinking coffee. I've been drinking a delicious coffee substitute that I found in my health food store. It's called soyfee soy coffee (www.soycoffee.com) and you brew just like coffee. It's made from 100% soybeans that are organic and contains no caffeine. It's important to select organic because most soy is genectically modified unless otherwise stated. I'm a firm believer in soy and is an excellent recommendation for women like myself reaching menopause to ease hot flashes.
So of course I checked out all of the reviews by Nurse Betty, and whaddaya know, they are identical. So basically they are using Amazon as a way to advertise, by posting reviews for any IBS-related material. This is shameless (but creative!).

Here is the link to all of Nurse Betty's reviews on Amazon:

One of them is a very favorable review of Heather's book, but she writes an identical review for every single IBS book that is available. This really just cracks me up.

OH yeah I'm real smart .... so smart that I totally burned my forehead tonight with the curling iron, and the burned skin peeled off, and now I have this giant pink/white spot in the middle of my really tan forehead. Yup, I'm a genius. Nobel-prize-worthy, even. Looks like I'll be wearing hats to school for the rest of the week!

Geez, this is pathetic! If Amazon catches this her reviews will be pulled.

You can report abuse on amazon when you read a review. Since it's your book, maybe you'd like to decide whether or not to do that. I just think it's funny and embarrassing for them. By the way, I tried changing my picture and now it doesn't come up. Any tips? Panda
