HI
Just wondering if any ladies out there are on progesterone and find it helping? Anyone with a story to tell about hormones and IBS?
Thanks Maura

Yes, I do. I refused to use synthetic hormones, but am on a topical dose of BHRT progesterone. What a world of difference. My IBS is gone. The D is gone. I was an A, but experience no problems at all now. Things changed after being on the cream for about 1 month. Mine was totally hormone related.
I hope this gives you some hope.

I just started a product from Puritan's Pride website. I've always been extremely pleased with the high quality products that they sell, including their spices. Presently they are having a two for one sale. As far as I know they ship anywhere, and the shipping cost is $4.95 no matter how many products you purchase at one time and they are sent UPS.
Here is the link:

HI Maura, I took progesterone several times in my life: in birth control pills and also natural progesterone (oral and intervaginal) to help with PMS and fertility. Both versions were a nightmare. There is a very small percentage of women who have WORSE PMS on progesterone, and yup, I'm one of them. My IBS wasn't any better with it (but if you were have PMS like I did at that time, your IBS would act up as well!).
I would be interested to hear more about how progesterone is used with IBS (not that I'd try it -- trust me, humanity is better with me staying far away from that stuff!). All the best, chigal
