Like I don't have enough stress in my life....LOL
I've taken on a Christmas Challenge..... so, between now and Christmas..... I plan to drop 14 pounds!! So, wish me luck....I'm gonna need it... but I know I can do it too!!
Each Friday I will "edit" this post and add my pounds lost for the previous week (Fri-Thurs).
I invite any who wants/needs to lose or even gain in some cases.... to join me.
Shell's Goal: Lose 14# by Christmas
Week 1 (10/10-10/16): 4.5 pounds gone!
Week 2 (10/17-10/23): +2.5 crawled back on me. Why I think I gained? 1) Too much not so smart fast food choices during kitchen project 2) not enough water 3) no weights at all this week unless you count lifting moving boxes up stairs to unpack!
Week 3 (10/24-10/30): -2 pounds again = total of 4! Why I think I lost? 1) smarter food choices, including more fruit i.e. apples 2) more water, but still not enough 3) took two weight classes this week, I really think that makes a difference and I even increased my barbell by 2.5# on each side for a total of 15# each side!
Week 4 (10/31-11/6): -1 pound = total of 5! Why I think I lost? 1) smaller portions 2) water water water 3) took two weight classes again this week, and I even increased my barbell by 2.5# another on each side for a total of 17.5# each side! 4) took yoga and pilates for beginners on the weekend and even threw in YogaII on Thurs this week. I wanted to mention I took this same class with the same instructor, John in Jan 07 and never went back because I was so frustrated that I could not do a lot of the things in class....well, this time (56 pounds less) I did things I could never do before...still some things I was not able to do, but I tried. Thanks to those that were in class with me too... you all were sending me good vibes! ..............All this with "TOM" here too....anyone else (ladies) notice this but me.....I think it's hormones, but I seem to have better and stronger workouts during this time of the month!! LOL
Week 5 (11/7-11/13): +/- Zero not really sure why, but at least it's not a gain, and I'm not going to stress about it like I was earlier this week when I WAS up four pounds!?!?!?! I've still got 6 weeks and only 9 pounds to go!!
Week 6 (11/14-11/20): - 1 pound = total of 6! not really sure how since I have not been at the gym since Sat due to my stupid cold and working late playing catch up for the sick days I took. Maybe cuz I was on a soup diet for 3 days cuz my throat hurt so bad I could not eat. Week 7 is going to be a real challenge for sure! I've got Shane's bday dinner and a movie tonight, a party Sat, and Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'll be at the gym sometime on Sun and then Mon & Wed for sure the rest of the week I'm playing by ear.

Shell I wish you luck just send all of your weight loss to me in the mail and I will pay for the s&h! I would LOVE to gain 14 pounds by christmas I just don't know how!!! Good luck! emmamsom(Sheila) ibs-c gas

OK, count me in! I know I always say I'll join on things like this and I don't follow through. But, I'll try it. I'll be super happy if I can lose ten pounds by Christmas.
What type of things will you be recording? I'm assuming you are still following the EFI diet? Any tips on what you will do?
I am going to follow the EFI diet and exercise at least 30 minutes a day. I hope to bounce that up to an hour in two weeks or so.
Ideally I need to lose about 35 pounds overall. We are going to TTC soon and I want to be in better shape!

i'm just going to report my weight lose/gain for each week... after you see my update on Friday.... then you just report what ever you want to.
I personally workout 5+ days a week...... here I'll post a sample of my new couple of days.... this is what I email to the girls at the gym.... it makes me more accountable to have others know my "PLANS"

Oh my gosh. That's an awesome workout schedule. I hate working out. I do it in the morning before work. I've been doing the Biggest Loser DVD(the first one they released).
I think if I met up with others I would stick to it more. My DH only likes to walk in the neighborhood. Which is great, but not for weight loss. I apparently need major sweat sessions. Good for you for sticking with a schedule like that!

Are there any class you can take at the gym?? I did not like them at first...but LOVE then now!!

OMG Shell! 4.5 pounds!! That's great. Here's mine, not so good. Week 1 (10/10-10.16)ZERO - I'm not too surprised. I haven't been trying very hard this week.

Shell & Wendy, I'm a little late posting but I'd love to join you with your Christmas Challenge as I currently have 25 pounds that I need to loose by summer 2009, DH and I want to start TTC then. I think I will start out with a goal of 8 pounds for Christmas. I follow the EFI diet and I do cardio 5-6 days a week using the elliptical machine and strength training 3 days a week using Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred video. I've also ordered some new videos so I can mix things up. I wish you both luck and I will be checking in weekly with my weight.
Samantha's Goal: Lose 8#
Week 1 (10/17-10/23): 1 pound gone!
Week 2 (10/24-10/30): 0 loss this week, calorie intake was too high.
Week 3 (10/31-11/6): 1 more pound gone!
Week 4 (11/7-11/13): 0 loss this week, maintaining.
Week 5 (11/14-11/20): 0 loss again.
Week 6 (11/21-11/27): 0 loss, no gain even with Thanksgiving! I'm proud of myself.
Week 7 (11/28-12/4): 0 loss
Week 8 (12/5-12/11): 0 loss (Surgery - 4 Wisdom Teeth removed)
Week 9 (12/12-12/18): 4 pound loss (Not eating solid foods since 12/11)

Count me in! I just started on the EFI diet this week, and have been too stressed to put much focus on my diet and exercising. But I've got more 7 lbs to lose, and I figure Christmas is as good a goal as any I lost 23 lbs over the summer, but hit a plateau the last couple months. So here goes! Thanks for starting this post.
