I felt really bloated and lethargic today, but got better as the day progressed...I decided to start listing my physical activity as well, because I've noticed it has a big effect on my symptoms.
*soy coffee, golden flax cereal with soymilk and banana
*1/2 tuna sandwich with light mayo, spring greens, and tomato on sourdough, a few wheat thins
*carrot ginger soup, spring green salad with goat cheese and balsamic, sauteed tempeh and red bell peppers, and a bit of dark chocolate for dessert
Activity: 1 hr. and a half of modern dance (a class that includes stretching, strength training, and cardio), about a half hour of walking around campus.
I love dance! Not only does it help my tummy and my appetite, but it gives me a creative outlet, and helps my depression!

oh, wednesdays. got home relatively early - 9:30 - but stil such a long day.
apple cinnamon cheerios w/ lite soy milk
banana
pb & honey sandwich
pasta w/ tomato sauce, green beans, a litte soy cheese
2 hardboiled egg whites w/ ketchup sm sweetpotato
soy yogurt water crackers (wasn't counting - probably more than ten)
2 bowls cereal w/ lite soy milk strawberry whole fruit popsicle
really didn't need the second bowl of cereal at night. (how many times to i say that!?) pretty high calories - around 2000. good fruits & veggies but not great with protein. oh well.

I'm in "eating like an idiot" mode & am not going to bother reporting very-uncool for IBS menus. Needless to say, "yes, I was in ibs-d hell last night" & it is all of my doing.
So, when I am in a more ibs-responsible mode, I shall report, etc.
I'm just in one of those reckless diet moods in terms of ibs, not calories or anything like that.
Kate.

Do you ever go through phases where you put your IBS on "ignore" or live in not exactly a state of denial, but a kind of divorce between reality & desire?
I'm just being a diet coke head who is eating too much rabbit food (salad/lettuce/raw greens) & drinking an obscene amount of caffeine. I'm sneaking in some dairy & egg yolks here & there--my brain seems to be screaming for it. I'm chewing sugarless gum which I know gives me D attacks after a certain quota of pieces. (Yikes, I discovered Juicy Fruit green--my new favourite!)
I'm not smoking, though.
Have you ever been in anorectic survivor dork with ibs mode?
So mostly I'm vegging out to the point it gives me D.
I'll get over it. It's an "off the wagon" in terms of IBS eating, not nutrition in general. If there were a rational explanation I'd pro-offer it. I know that peer pressure is an issue, but NOT an excuse. It's a kind of not caring about even being careless mode.
Nevertheless, I know I'll feel beyond "poopy" enough, figuratively speaking & in agonizing pain consistently enough to get back with the program.
Kate.

i totally get it - i do the same thing in terms of "diet"/calories - saying 'screw it all' and eating whatever the heck i want. we do what we have to do to stay sane.
