Is There Occasional IBS?

Just starting researching since I'd like to control my loose BM's. It seems I get a sudden urge to go about once a week and there is NO waiting. Then it's over and I never know when it will strike again. Sometimes it's like an hour after I've had a normal BM which seems strange to me. I think I'll try following the diet and avoiding the trigger foods. It's starting to limit where I go and what I do because I feel the need to stay within 15 minutes of a bathroom. Is it possible to have occasional IBS?

From day to day, even month to month. Some days I will have a whole rash of attacks, and some days nothing at all. I can even go months at a time with no problem. IBS can sort of wax and wane with some people. It can be better/worse at different times. Sometimes it can be directly related to what you have eaten, and sometimes it seems like there's no reason at all.
But once you're given an IBS diagnosis, you have it for life. If it concerns you, you should see a DOC and get to a specialist for a colonoscopy. IBS symptoms can mimic many other problems. Best get checked out.

Thanks for responding. I've made my doctor's appointment so I can get a proper diagnosis.
