I haven't tried Quaker Take Heart Oatmeal. Does it have more fiber than the regular Quaker instant oatmeal? How's the flavor?
Yum! Newman-O's. I don't really like cookies, but these are delicious! Too delicious...I couldn't eat only two (that's why I haven't bought them in a while). Instead, I eat two Chocolate Peppermint Stick Luna Bars almost every day!
Sorry, no protein powder recommendations, but your diet looks great!

the quaker take heart oatmeal has 4g sf per serving. it's instant oatmeal packets, and as long as you like the sweet stuff, it's great. kashi also makes something like this, called heart smart, with lots of sf, too.
newman-o's are addictive, especially these mint ones i got. this is the first time i've bought them - it's almost an exercize in self-control, like a little chocolatey challenge.

i always found that they mixed better with just plain water versus a 'not milk.' actually, i used a couple scoops of powder, and just plain frozen fruit (very good with berries!) and blended. sometimes i'd add ice, depending on the fruit.
another thought is to make your oats with a scoop of protein powder. also, i found that the powder mixed very well with stuff like babyfood peaches or applesauce.
a really good smoothie is just protein powder and raw oats/berries. it has that muesli effect.
there are so many things that you can do with it! there are so many varieties, from rice based to soy to spirulina to egg to hemp.

a truly time-warped day. (yes, definitely in dr. frankenfurter mode. ) slept until nearly one. (i woke up with nausea/stomach cramps and just decided to go back to bed) actually, now that i consider it, i feel jet lagged! truly a time-warped woman. but, i decided to beam down and be an 'earth girl.'
here's what i consumed:
--1 c. egg whites --1 c. egg whites
***egg whites are a 'sure thing' with me! i always know/trust that they will stay down/agree. a totally safe/fool-proof & yummy protein***
raw:
--romaine lettuce --english cuke ***this was a huge one. it looked like a light saber. i think it was almost as long as my arm. very juicey. i love slicing them japanese style***
cooked:
--spicy spinach --cremini mushrooms with yellow & red onion --garlicky green beans
--the usual fatfree virtually zero calorie condiments. really hit the cinnamon dijon today.
***officially diagnosed with osteoarthritis which explains my gnarled redness, stiffness, pain. it also explains why my bones feel good with all the sulfur! (i.e. onions, garlic, egg whites, fish/seafood, veggies)
PERSONAL VICTORY: ate like a queen (as usual) & didn't count a calorie. although, something tells me that it's less than a thousand. nevertheless, no habitual double-checking/counting. i know that i easily, healthfully got over 100g protein! when i read tarot, i continue to draw Strength--a woman 'taming' a lion. tiger, tiger burning bright.
OBSERVATION: if i don't have a protein snack before bed I SERIOUSLY go into FAMINE mode by the witching hour, i.e. 4 a.m. therefore, by having a latenight protein dose, i avoid that situation!
