B: the usual

L: 2 bowls HNC
snacks: 1 banana, 1 mango, couple chips
D: Indian spicy chicken mango wraps, basmati, roasted potaoes with cauliflower and onion in Indian spices awesome!
De: few bites soy delicious
Total around 1800 cals
Ex: walked 40+ min on treadmill and did abs/back, gardened in PM
Other: not as much poop today and really stinky gas! sort of smells and tastes like asparagus pee for some reason. But otherwise ok. Little bloated but I didn't eat quite perfectly today. didn't drink quite as much because it wasn't hot today. Slept on the futon to see if my back would feel better but it did not. I will try to stop laying on my stomach again because as soon as I got home from camping my back got sore again.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

food intake du jour:

--egg whites, 1 c.
--shrimp, 1/2 c. (super yum!)

raw:
--spring mix
--baby spinach
--english cuke, 2 c.

cooked:

--cremini mushrooms (salad topper)
--green beans/basil/shallot puree (topping for spring mix salad)
--'faux-tatoes' (a really thick & creamy 'white sauce' for spinach salad)
--baby spinach/dill puree (omelette filling extraordinare!)
--garlic, 6 cloves
--2 bunches scallions, bottom thirds
--1 c. vidalia onion (roasted with cremini mushrooms)
--4 medium celery stalks (in homemade tom yum broth with green onions)
--fresh cilantro

flavour enhancers:

--organic chicken broth
--roasted red curry paste
--rice vinegar
--fish sauce
--fresh lime juice
--dijon mustard
--sage, thyme, nutmeg, parsley
--a little fresh ginger (in broth)
--lemongrass

still @ less than 1000 calories.
protein: 97g (53%)
fat: 9g (11%)
carbs: 110g (36%)

All this lean protein sure numbs my high stress personality. i think i'm actually stable by eating a specific carb oriented diet.

for some, chicken soup is soul food. for me, i think it's a big bowl of tom yum!

MIDNIGHT SNACK ALERT!!! Just some 'faux-tatoes' with thai chili garlic sauce! How fattening (not!), I know!!!

kate.

feeling very good lately, small binge tonight notwithstanding. (i know it's not technically a binge, but it's my own verion of it, a little kitchen rampage rather than a well- and smartly-planned meal, and i feel fuller than i need to be.) but like i said, feeling good. seeing results (slow but sure weight loss, cheekbones like i aint never seen before) and feeling more energetic... which may be the encouragement of the results, but whatever works works. also exciting - i have a second-round interview monday for a job i really really want. fingers crossed!

mini bagel
4 egg whites

quaker take heart (4g SF!) oatmeal
1/2 c soy milk

small sweet potato
1/2 pita
3 oz fake chicken salad

soy cream cheese & jam sandwich

tofu salad sandwich
3 pieces dried mango
1 piece chocolate
frozen berries

1640. 62g protein (16%). 19% fat. must get protein powder tomorrow.

walked to work and then some (3 mi total), then gym: 10 min elliptical, 20 min bike, various arm weight stuff, leg-lifts, squats - by the end, my quads were so tired i had to grip the banister to walk down the stairs to leave. i'll probably be wicked sore tomorrow, but it's a lesson learned and some muscles worked.

i also feel like i'm eating *constantly*. i love it. i'm hungry? i eat. every 2 or 3 hours. probably the first time in my life i've felt okay about eating whenever the heck i want. i don't know if 'fun' is the right word, but it's something very close.

You go girlfriend! Now you've got the attitude! I see you kicking some big time behavioural butt! Yes, *fun* is a perfect way to describe it. Maybe *spoiling one's self?*
(But not rotten) Respect. TLC. Body will respond with joy!
Eat when hungry until satiated and then eat more later if desired! Offer lots of variety. It's that honour system. And, ironically, you'll want what you know will physically make you feel better than good! These creatures we live in are actually quite earth-smart.

Here's to the journey, the adventure!!! You're pic is gorgeous, by the way!

Kate.

Oh that rocks Jaime! I love that feeling - eat, eat, eat, eat! It's all about satisfaction and listening to your body.

I also love this feeling...

Hardly even want to report this day... It was a bit of a weird day though: I've been really sleep deprived lately so since I didn't have class until 2:30 today I let myself sleep in quite late. Lots of other productive stuff I *should* have been doing, but my body appreciated it. Didn't eat as much as usual though simply because I was awake for fewer hours.

Breakfast (11ish) - 2 bowls of cheerios with soy milk, 1 banana

Lunch (1:30) - 2 veggie dogs (on hot dog buns) with mustard

Snack in class (4:00) - 2 slices of banana bread

Dinner (around 6) - rice with "popeye pesto" (heh) and almost a cup of mixed beans (kidney, chick pea etc.)

Snack (8:30ish) 1 cup applesauce

Snack (10ish) - more cheerios and another banana

Water? Yikes, don't even ask (bad Laurel!) Not a great day re: fruits and veggies either... well, tomorrow's another day...
