I received Heather's Acacia today. I was shocked to find that two capsules of citrucel only contain 2 grams of fiber.

This is a typical eating day for me.

Breakfast:
1 peppermint capsule
3 eggbeaters
1 sourdough muffin
1 cup of Chamomile tea

Two hours later:
1 bowl of oatmeal
1 cup of warm warer
Two citrucel capsules (more water)

Lunch:
1 peppermint capsule
1 bowl of rice and grilled or baked skinless chicken
1 cup of warm water
a small portion of almonds (not often)

Dinner:
1 Lean Cuisine Dinner consisting of carrots, rice, string beans and grilled chicken (the Lean Cuisines seem to agree with me and I love them)
1 cup of warm water or Chamomile tea

Bedtime:
1 peppermint capsule
Two citrucel capsules
1 piece of peeled fruit (for fiber)
1 cup of chamomile tea

My boss has been on vacaton since August 5th and will not be returning until August 26 (Ugh). Since he has been gone, I have had normal bms, not as much cramping and less gas. He is a trigger for me!

I was wondering if I could take the Acacia (starting at the dosage that is suggested) as well as my citrucel? I think my gas problem might be sooooooo much better if I consumed 15-35 grams of fiber per day.

I know that stress will return when my boss returns, he is one of those "oh just take some Mylanta; or you can make it to the bathroom if you try" kind of idiots. We really need you here at work, just come in! Not caring that I have been up all night with D or severe cramping and bloating begging God to please send some relief!

Anyway, I would like to know your thoughts on taking the Acacia and Citrucel with my daily diet that I eat every single day.

Thanks in Advance

Lene

If you look on top Heather has a post up top on Acacia doses and also you can click on this link: web page faq It has questions and answers on Acacia.

P.S. My boss is my trigger too sometimes. Try sharing an office

Hi Lene,

I love Lean Cuisines, too, especially the grilled chicken and penne pasta. I do have to take the broccoli out, though. It's really a big portion and with a roll or french bread makes a great meal.

I'm one of those that has a hard time with fiber supplements so I can't give you any advice on that. I can say that lots of people comment that you have to really be careful about the dosage and not take too much too fast.

I think if we shared the same office I would either fart or sh** him out! He would not be able to deal with my IBS attacks. (smile)

Thanks.

I would try a tspn three times a day (that's 4.5 grams total)to start if you are currently getting 4 grams a day from the citrucel. Then gradually add more working your way toward the full amount if needed.

I started very slow 1/2 tspn and have worked my way to 6 or 7 grams a day. I am stable at that level so I haven't increased it anymore.

Thank so much guys. This board is the very foundation of getting questions answered and understood.

I think I will start with 1/4 tspn. twice daily and slowly work my way up as Casey suggested.

I do not want to overdue it too quickly and end up being more bloated and gassy than I already am.

Thanks again, you guys are really "special".
