Is Gas-X and Beno safe to use after every meal everyday or just when you know something may cause gas? I have been avoiding everything that gives me gas, which I thought I was supposed to be doing and now I am confused. Why take these things if you are avoiding the trigger foods that causes gas? Can someone explain this to me? Thanks.

Hello,
Well from personal experience, I have to avoid the trigger foods AND take the GasX on an almost daily basis. I get some amount of gas after every meal. Usually it goes away unless I've had some carbonation or broccoli, then it lingers all night long. I've gotten used to taking the Gas X daily and that helps - I bought the generic kind to save money. You might want to check with your doctor if you plan to take Gas X every day, just to make sure it's okay. The Beano has not seemed to work as well for me.

I have to take them all the time, too... usually 3 beano's with each meal (except when it's stuff like oatmeal or cheerios). For me, Gas-X doesn't work as well as Mylanta (liquid) which is kind of inconvenient. My MD says just do whatever helps me feel better.... so I'm guessing it's all safe. Maybe you should check in with your own dr. for peace of mind.
