How long can you keep turkey breast refrigerated for? Or any cold cuts for that matter? I keep them for a week. I am starting to think that may be too long. Thanks!

I always have this problem myself... I never know when things are starting to become unsafe. Because I'm ultra-paranoid, my gut is really touchy, and I've had food poisoning from poultry WAY too many times, I only keep turkey/chicken for 3 days. Period. If it's the pre-packaged stuff loaded with preservatives (as opposed to good deli meats), I'll sometimes squeak it to 4 days, but never more than that. But like I said, I'm paranoid.

I am paranoid too when it comes to that stuff and a sensitive stomach as well, that's why I asked. I though a week might be too long, because my stomach seems to react differently it to turkey breast after a few days. I wasn't sure if it was my imagination. Thanks.

I had the dilema myself until I went searching on the web for some answers last month. People were saying that they would freeze some of the deli meat, either pre-packaged or fresh. I put waxed paper between the servings so I can take out only as much as I want. I haven't kept any frozen for more than a few weeks, but this way at night I can take out what I need and it will be thawed for lunch the next day.
I recently bought Oscar Myer and the package actually stated good for 7 days from opening. I sometimes repackage in heavy/freezer ziplock bags just to give myself peace of mind if I do keep it refrigerated.
Hope this helps.
