Our son starts college life next week. He's become very familiar with the correct, safe IBS diet to follow. Wondering if anyone has had any experience with college life and how difficult/easy eating will be once on campus. We already know that most of the beverages offered will not be tolerated... milk, pop, coffee, juices, local tap water (loaded with minerals). Any thoughts will be appreciated.

mul32 just had a recent post about this same topic. Search the boards and you'll find it.
Water, even tap water, should be ok. Talk to the dining hall staff, explain you have a special diet, see if they can help. My college dining hall had bagels, and pasta, and some Asian food, and some vegetarian stuff that would work. Even soy milk sometimes. Invest in a hot plate or something similar to cook rice or pasta in the dorm if it's allowed (some dorms have common kitchens where I am). Keep safe snacks in his room. Where is your son going to school?
