I am trying to incorporate more soluble fiber into my diet and i was thinking of trying Acacia. If I already take probiotics, should I still be taking acacia, since it has the label says it has prebotic effects and restores gut flora? My probiotic also restores gut flora. I read this on the website. Can you take too much probiotics? I am taking 1,000 mg. right now.

Acacia and probiotics are two different things, and they're great together... new

Probiotics are the actual live critters in your gut - the healthy gut flora that you naturally have, but that it's always a good idea to reinforce. Acacia is a PRE-biotic - this means that it encourages the growth of the probiotics. So taking the two together can give you better results than taking just one.

I'm not sure if you can take too many probiotics - I'd just follow the dose on the bottle regarding that. But it's not like taking the Acacia with the probiotics would lead to too much probiotic growth in your gut. Your body will naturally balance that out.

Most soluble fibers in foods have a prebiotic effect, by the way. This is tremendously helpful for the body and for good health in lots of different ways.
