I'm not sure if I'm spelling this right, but a co-worker who recently found out she has IBSC and D, depending on what she eats. She eats hickama, and says it has been helping her. Does anyone on here eat it or have you heard of it? She wants me to try it on Monday, but I'm not sure how I will react to it.

Hi - It's a root veggie, pronounced "hickama" but spelled jicama. It's kinda like a water chestnut in texture but tastes better. It's high in insoluble fiber, and it's almost always eaten raw, so be careful. Treat it like any other raw veggie....
Best, Heather

Thanks for the information Heather. I think I'll stay away from it.
