Hello,

I've been taking a probiotic now since about February, however in the last fifteen days I have been taking 3 a day instead of 1 because I've been on antibiotics. Strangely, I have noticed that my tummy has been much better over the last fifteen days, which I can only assume must be from the probiotics. I expected it to be worse because of the antibiotics, but thankfully (knock on wood) it's been better.

So, my question is, could I continue taking 3 a day? The bottle says for preventative/maintenance use take 1 daily and for therapeutic use take 3. I'll list the ingredients too...I just wasn't sure if there was such thing as too much probiotic.

Each capsule contains:
Lactobacillus acidophilus - 10%
Lactobacillus rhamnosus - 50%
Streptococcus thermophilus - 20%
Bifidobacterium longum - 10%
Bifidobacterium bifidum - 10%
Fructo-oligo-saccharides (FOS) - 60mg

Each capusle is guaranteed to have 5 billion active cells.

Any advice would be great!
Thanks,
Kelly

Hi Girlfriend!

How wonderful to hear you're doing so much better! This is EXCELLENT news! And it's about TIME, eh?

Glad you like your probiotic. I like mine too. What if you did a compromise? What happens if you take 2? I've been taking 2 for several months now, and it's working for me. I figure if it works, don't fix it.

There will be days when you don't take it at all. Sometimes I don't wake up at midnight as usual, so those nights I don't take it. Then there are nights when I forget to put the capsules on my nightstand, and when I wake up at midnight, they're not there, so I go back to sleep without taking them. I think that would offset the 3 you take on a regular schedule, eh?

So you're off the antibiotic now? I'm so glad you're doing better, Kelly. That's just excellent!

Bev

Thanks for your info Bev!
I'm pretty happy that my tummy is doing better, it's still not where I'd like it stability wise, but if the probiotic is what's helping, then yay for that.

I'm off the antibiotic, but this pink-eye infection I have is unusually stubborn, I was at an optometrist today and they were surprised it hadn't cleared up yet. So, it's watchful waiting and believe it or not, I may end up back on oral antibiotics if the eye drops don't start working soon!

GRRR...what next eh?

Kelly
