Is there anyone out there with IBS C that can eat peanut butter without it being constipating? Aren't nuts in general extremely constipating?

IMHO, very little out there is constipating if you're getting enough liquid and soluble fiber and insolubles!
I eat peanut butter all the time now (at least 5x/week), and I'm regular for the first time in my life. Note, though, that I drink huge amounts of herbal tea and take two heaping tablespoons of acacia a day, and base my diet on bread (fresh baked stuff) and rice. Oh, and I try to get insolubles in at every meal.
Funnily enough, I tend to get constipated on non-PBJ days. I don't eat so much of it on the weekends...when I also don't drink as much liquid. You wouldn't think of a computer job as a health job, but when you always have a mug of mint tea in front of you when programming, it can be!

It's insoluble - so treat it like other insolubles.

I agree with Linz - it's an insoluble fiber, treat it as any other. However, maybe your body just doesn't do peanut butter well? I know I can't eat the stuff - even a tiny bit - without getting at least awful indigestion, if not diarrhea.

One of my favorite snacks is a sliced banana dipped in peanut butter and honey....major comfort food! as long as I don't eat it every day and don't eat a ton of it, I do fine.

I eat it - make sure I eat it on white bread, usually a toasted begal and I put very little on the begal. I haven't found it particularly consitpating - I actually thought for a while there that it seemed to help me go to the bathroom but that may have been wishful thinking?
