Ever heard of femscript? I've been enrolled with them for about 7 years or so now. It's a FREE discount program for some meds. I'd originally gotten it to get discounts on my birth control pills, because my insurance didn't cover them.

Well, I was telling my mom about it and we looked it up online and apparently femscript has changed to RXSavings Plus. They have one for women, which I assume is my old femscript. But, the regular covers all kinds of discounts. I checked my Levsinex and it was cheaper than what I pay through my presciption plan through work! Did I happen to mention it's FREE? LOL

Anyway, here's the link if anyone wants to see if they can get their meds cheaper. www.advancerx.com

If you look down the left side, you'll see a link for "Look Up Drug Pricing". If you try this, check how much it would be through your pharmacy, then also check mail order to compare. I've found the mail order on the couple I checked to be even cheaper than going to pick it up at the pharmacy.

Hope this can help someone out!

Hey there, Missy Mags!

This sounds promising. My meds cost me a fortune. I think it's because I have to pay for my med ins. out of my own pocket, and it's not the best.

I've been cleaning this condo like mad, scrubbing everything thoroughly -- removing all the venetian blinds and scrubbing them, washing all the windows, removing all the screens and brushing them, and cleaning out all the door and window tracks -- anyway, my allergies have REALLY been kicking up something awful, sneezing uncontrollably, and I've gone through 3 boxes of Kleenex just this past week alone!

Over-the-counter allergy meds warn not to take it if you have high blood pressure, so I called the doc who gave me two prescriptions. When I went to pick them up at the pharmacy, my co-pay alone was $80! Good GRIEF! Bad timing -- just when we're spending so much on the new house -- I CAN'T AFFORD THIS! ARGH!

So how does this work, Mags? Do you get the prescription from your doc, then scan it into the computer and send it to femscript? They certainly don't give you meds without a prescription, right?

Thanks!

No, femscript sent me a card a long time ago, and my pharmacy has my info stored in their computer now. (Just like a prescription card you'd get from insurance.) And, when I take my prescription from the doctor to the pharmacy, the pharmacy sees how much it would cost through my femscript or through my regular insurance and they go with whatever is cheapest. BUT, femscript used to be just for chick stuff - like BC pills, yeast infection meds, etc, with a few other things like for high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. NOW, I just found out they changed the name and the plan covers even more meds! Does thaat make sense?

Did you check out the website yet? Let me know how you make out!

A lot of drug companies have patient assistance programs. I went on-line and found the Lilly site and was able to get my sister's Prozac free for her.. She is low income and that is one of the criteria.
