My previous diet had been mainly fruits, veggies, whole grains and proteins.. my doctor had said NO bread, oatmeal, rice, bananas, bagels. I've been doing that for 3 years and still have chronic C and crazy gas.

I discovered this diet a few days ago and after reading all through it, decided to switch my whole way of eating. I tried eating things like oatmeal with some soy, saltines, soy cheese, white rice with steamed spinach. I think I had an apricot after the saltines. Lots of water and chamomile tea.

At the end of the first day I got a wicked headache and was very nauseaus, even puking a few times. The second day I still felt weird, off. Today I'm slightly better, but am curious what happened. I am very sugar sensitive, so I'm not sure if I switched diets too fast and the simple carbs triggered my insulin levels or something.

Did this happen to anyone else? What should I do?

Thanks,
*m

Well...Im sure most people will tell you that you need to stick with the diet, say at least 2 weeks to let your body adjust...also it seems like you were eating lots of insoluable fiber before, and considering you have just completely switched your way of eating, well, that could have upset your system a little.

try ginger for the nauseau, it helps.

also, as everyone likes to make sure on here, do you take an SFS?

Yeah, I guess it was too drastic. So, I shouldn't add any insolube fibers/proteins right now? What if I eat something like an english muffin with a little turkey on it? I'm getting Heather's book any day now, so I'll know more then I guess.

What's an SBS?

actually i dont think an english muffin with turkey would be a bad idea. just add it in slowly...there is a lot of info on the site about soluble and insoluble fibers
Soluble Fiber
Insoluble Fiber

A SFS is a soluble fiber supplement and is helpful for both C and D, but again you need to begin with a small dosage and work your way up....here's some great info that will explain it all to you!

K. Thanks. I've read everything a few times and did order the acacia supplement and the diet book. Hopefully it will come soon! In the meantime, I'll stick to it and try to stay positive. Oh, and I just bought some Ginger tea, so hopefully that will help.

Thanks!
