I'm just beginning the EF IBS diet. i don't necessarily have diarrhea all the time but i have 4-6 bms/ day, so i want to see if this will help. i don't eat more insoluble fiber than anyone else but if i don't eat any (or very little) i get constipated. here is my fear and my question. i'm afraid that if i minimize my insoluble fiber intake that i'll end up w/constipation. my body is SO used to elimination! am i going to end up feeling bloated and gassy because i'm not getting rid of things like i'm used to?

thanks for listening!...amyww

You may get a bit C for a while, but once you're stabilising, then you can add more insolubles back in (just eat them safely, like after SF). And you'll do loads better for changing to the diet. A soluble fibre supplement will also help prevent both the C and the D - I'm IBS-A too and I've found Acacia is best.
