How much soluble fiber as a base?

I was hoping someone could give me an idea of how much soluble fiber counts as a base for a meal? I don't eat much at a time, so often if I'm having a meal I just have a tuna sandwich so my two pieces of bread are my soluble fiber...or I might have a roll with another meal. Is that enough? I'm thinking maybe I'm not having enough of a soluble fiber base with my meals and that's why other foods are causing attacks. It just seems like unless I'm eating only rice, breads and other soluble fibers, I'm getting attacks, even if I'm eating "safe" type foods.
Any advice?
Also, what category would applesauce fall into? Can you eat it on it's own or does it need a base?
Thanks!
Kelly

Applesauce is fine anytime, but I wouldn't use it as a base for a meal. I generally go by a serving as a rule of thumb. Ie a cup of rice, your 2 slices of bread, a baked potato, . That is usually enough for me. Try a bit more than what you're having and see if it makes a difference. How are you eating your insolubles? Are they cooked, mashed, pureed? It REALLY helps make them more digestible.
