Hi, My Ibs have been manageable for many years until recently. I was medicated for two weeks during extensive dental treatment with penicillin vk followed by 6 days of methylprednisone. Since then I have had outbreaks of diarrhea, cramping, gas, and headaches everyday. My IBS is predominantly constipation which I manage quite well with Citrucel each morning. I have been unable to return to that routine as of yet. I follow my IBS diet religiously but things have still been off. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

With antibiotics, there's not much you can do. Let them run their course and when you're done with them you'll feel better. Try drinking lots of water to keep your system going.

I'm not an expert, but I think that antibiotics can mess up your intestinal flora, maybe that's why you're IbS is acting up. When you're done the antibiotics, try some probiotics (acidopholus etc), it might really help. If you want more info, do a search on probiotics- there are tons of posts on the subject. Hope you feel better soon! Laura
