Hello! I'm back from my Easter weekend and had it safe and sound. It was a little hard watching everyone eat all the good food while I had a tuna sandwich, but at least I'm not sick ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif) Anyways, I picked up some veggie dogs the other day and I just wanted to list the ingredients and ask everyone if they look ok: Water, non-GMO soy protein, vital wheat gluten, yeast extract, salt, wheat starch, evaportated cane juice, spices, carrageenan, beet root powder, natural liquid smoke, wheat germ, vitamin B1, vitamin b12, panthothenic acid, iron oxide, iron, zinc, magnesuim, potassium. 1 weiner has 56 calories and 0.1g of fat. Does that sound ok? Kelly

Well, it sure is low in fat! Some people have problems with wheat gluten, but if that's not you, goferit! What's the brand, and where did you get it? Have you tried it yet? How does it taste?
Carageenan, I wonder what that is .....??

Yeah, it is really low in fat! That kinda surprised me, made me worried about how it might taste. Anyways, I believe it's a Canadian brand, it's called YvesVeggies...here's a website: http://www.yvesveggie.com/products_family.php?family_id=2&page=1&pIdName=Veggie%20Dogs I haven't tried them yet but I have had their burgers before (a really long time ago) and they were pretty good! I eat them all the time with no problems. They're my favorite one's I've tried so far. Enjoy!

I'm pretty sure carageenan (well, I can't spell it) is a vegetable thickener. I could be wrong though.

Yup, it's a seaweed extract that's used as a thickener. Something everyone needs to know!

I've been meaning to try Yves veggie dogs! I was also afraid they'd be bland since they're so low in fat, but I'm so glad to hear that Mags thinks they're good! In that case I'll have to move them to the top of my list of things to try.

Isn't it great how we can depend on Missy Mags? Good thing she doesn't realize how much we rely on her, eh?! Might freak her out. Shhhhhh.....

LOL - You two are crazy! ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
Kree - You should try them. I've been having them for lunch just about every day for a month now (unless I have leftovers or something). I'm addicted to them. Very good with Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard. ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)
OK, now my mouth is watering!! LOL
