I've been told by my doctor that I have to take an iron supplement, and I'm worried because I know it can cause "C" I'm IBS-A and I'm trying really hard to get stable, so I dont' want to start taking something that's going to make things worse, but doc says I have to. Of course, I got all the bad recommendations (eat bran, brocolli etc)...so I'm looking for some good recommendations. I always drink tons of water and tea (at least 3 litres/day) but I'm still not eating much insoluble fiber because I'm still trying to get stabilized. What are other people's experiences with this? Any tips on what to eat/what to avoid? Should I take some sort of stool softener? Thanks, Kelly

Stool softner like colace would be a good option IF you get more C. I have been on Prenatal vitamins for 2 months now, they have a ton of iron in them and it hasn't made my C any worse! Be sure to drink a lot of water and get some exercise, both will help with C.
