WELL....after 45 minutes and ALOT of pain....I'm finally not so C anymore...BUT OUCH!! My behind hurts!!
I would almost have preffered D over what I got....
Does anyone else get this and what can I do to stop my behind from hurting??

Are you taking a soluble fiber supplement on the side? Drinking a lot of water? I sympathize with your pain because I'm constipated even when I take the reccommended amou of soluble fiber and eat high fiber foods all day! Hang in there!!!! Hemmorhoid cream will help the pain. Good luck! Maryh

I get this at times as well Kimm. Although I am learning more everyday to help my C. I don't take insoluable fiber because it seems to make me worse and my GI agrees; however, I drink the recommended amount of water and snack on soluable fiber throughout the day. My GI has me on 2 6mg of zelnorm per day and 4 stool softeners. From being so frustrated in the past when my dr. would not refer me to the GI, I would just eat laxatives to keep sane. From that I have the roids! So if I can't go each morning, I do a enema because I am tired of taking things that my body comes dependant on. It isn't that it is fun, but it is better than having the runs and my roids be on fire all day long. Best of luck!

Hey Kimm do you strain to push the poos out? I have suffered with terrible c in my life, but you must never strain (I know its easier said then done, believe me!). I need to eat insoluble fibre in order to go....but I do it carefully. Hope you feel better!

Kimm, I'm with Dalia, my advice would be not to push it. I used to force my BMs out too, but finally realized that it was better if I just left the bathroom and let them come when they were ready. I know it's a horrible feeling knowing they're RIGHT there but won't come, but it saves you a lot of pain. I usually drink teas and have something high in soluble fiber like oatmeal and they come out within the day (usually). This gives them time to soften up a little, too, so they're not quite as painful. That's just my experience, though... I hope your tushy starts feeling better soon!

OH, how I can relate!! Its just an awful feeling to know its RIGHT there but just won't come out. When I get like that I use a glycerin suppository. I usually can't "hold" it in as long as it says, usually after 5 minutes, I'm ready to go. Not sure if its just the "stimulation" of using the suppository or what, but it almost always works for me. They are cheap, only a few dollars so maybe pick some up so they are handy next time! Hope you tushy feels better soon.

Hiya Kimm, I can totally relate. I had such bad D for a while that as soon as I started to go anything other than pure liquid, I had problems. Such bad problems in fact, that I got a fissure (a tear) and you do NOT want to get onna those, believe me! I have been on different creams for it, but they didn't work and I ended up having to have Botox. Needles in the bum? Not a fun day, I'll tell ya that. It's still not healed, though, and getting worse so I have to have surgery on it. I am trying to put that off 'till I get back to Canada, though (in December) 'cause.. ew. I agree with the others, try not to force it and use hemmoroid creams. You can get an ointment from the doctor that is just a mild anesthetic (spelling??) that will numb it a bit so you won't be in pain all day. Hope this helps! How'd the Modulon work out, btw? --Steph

Kimm, bless your heart, I'm so sorry! I don't know what you're going through; I've never had C -- but, yeah, you're right. D is so much better because I can get it out -- and DO, believe me! It's got to be worse not being able to get it out.
Do you like blueberries? What about a blueberry smoothie? Blueberry pancakes? I adore blueberries, but they sure do make me GO! Yowza!
Get better soon, honey. And try some cream on that cute little tusch.
